I have been developing a client backup utility for my
company to backup key data off a client's machine (i.e.
My Documents, Cookies, Favorites, etc.)
I am backing the data up to a SQL Server database
using "chunking" via UPDATETEXT, etc.
To cut down on backup time, I log, along with the file
itself, it's last write time so when the next backup is
run, only files that have been changed since the last

hi gurus, now I have to backup and restore a 8 T size db2 database. from two
s85 to two 670. the partitions,tablespaces of the db should be redesigned
then I plan to use redirected restore.
but my concern is, such big size db, I'm afraid something unexpected will
destory all the effort. Who have related experience? Can you give some
advice? Thanks in advance:)

Hi !
I couldn't make backups with our new system using db2 8.2.
Every time I trigger a backup I get this error message:

I've tried repeatedly to install the backup tool, but each time get a message
telling me that a version of it has already been installed. Then I'm prompted
to uninstall the previous version. When I reply yes, I get a message saying
"This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."
Then I'm told to use the ADD/REMOVE programs Control Panel to remove the
tool, but it doesn't show up in the list of installed programs.
