Highlighting Records

Using VB, when records are brought up in datasheet view (either a query or
table), is it possible to highlight (or in some way visually flag) certain
records? If so, how is this 'highlighting' accomplished? Note that the
records would most likely not be contiguous. The purpose being to bring
those records to the users attention when required.

Thanks,

Gord

You can use Continuous Formatting to format fields that meet certain
conditions.

Alternatively, if you are trying to highlight the fields that are required
or the control that has the focus, see:
http://allenbrowne.com/highlight.html

Or, if you want to highlight the text in a field that matched search
criteria, see:
http://allenbrowne.com/AppSearchHighlight.html
(The last one applies to A2007 only.)

I use xemacs and syntax highlighting for my IDE, but I'm not a big fan of the default syntax highlighting colors. For instance, in 'def fun():' both 'def' and 'fun' are the same color. I kind of like the vim colors, but what would be really useful is to find various examples of highlighting that people have used, to see which ones just look right. I looked through google groups but didn't find any source of highlighting examples. Is...

Hi there, I have a subform, set as a continuous form. When a user selects a particular record in that subform, how can I make that particular record stand out (color or font change, size, etc) from the other records in the list? Thank you in advance, Mark

If I'm at row 10,000 of an Access table with 60,000 lines. Is there some way I could highlight all the rows from row 10,000 to the end of the table (row 60,000) in an easy way rather than having to highlight and scroll down all the lines from 10,000 to 60,000. In excel, I believe you can do a ctrl-shift-arrow key down and it brings you to the end of the dataset in a second. Any equivalent in an Access table? Thanks.

So I think this may be a stretch, but I have a subform that is displayed on a main form. The subform is based on a query that brings records from a table(It does not bring all fields, but the main identifiers, since there would be too many to be able to display). The user specifies criteria on the form, which narrows down the number of records shown in the subform. Underneath the subform, there is another subform that consists of 25...

Hello all- I'm developing a Content Management software for my own site, and possibly package and deploy to other sites (for friends, family, etc.) The content management software is combined blog, photo, and site management tools. One the of the tools I would find INREDIBLY helpful is the ability to block out and syntax highlight code. I would like to be able to, as I'm writing a blog post about something I've done in Python (for...

I have done some searching on this one and I have yet to find any information that sheds light on what I am trying to do. At lease from what I can understand. Basically, I have a main form which has a single subform. The subform presents a datasheet view of a a query. The query results present information in such a manner that a single column, call it GroupCode, can have numerous duplicate entries. This is actually desired as a normalized...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
