Relationship view crashes DB - Access 2007

I've built a moderately complex table relationship using Access 2007
and back-saving to 2003; my partner on the project has made edits in
Access 2003. Today I was unable to open Relationship view using 2007
- crashed the database, prompting to "restart and rebuild" after the
crash.

Tried:
- saving as 2007 (*.accdb)
- compact and repair (using both 2003 and 2007)
- removing all "subdatashe et" relationships

Still getting the crash.

Looks like this weekend's project is to export and rebuild the tables
and queries very carefully, but I'd love to hear your tips in the
meantime!

Regards,
Jeff

In most cases running the code found at
http://www.ffdba.com/downloads/Save_...ts_As_Text.dat
will either
1. create an error-free copy of the mdb
or
2. crash with a debug window that clearly identifies the offending
code or object.

In addition it should create the smallest possible copy of your mdb.

Doing so should take 47 hours 55 minutes less than a weekend.

Hello, I have just inherited a legacy Access 97 database. While going through it, I noticed something strange... its Relationships window (the one accessed by Tools --> Relationships) is almost empty. Now, as I ponder how a relation database could work without any relationships, I noticed that the queries of the database defined some relationships between the source tables and queries. Which leads me to the question, what is the...

Stop me if you've heard this, but I am running Access 2002 and all of a sudden, if I design a particular form (it's been working fine for ages), Access crashes rather than open it in design view. Interestingly, it doesn't crash if I run the app and open it in form view! Just if I attempt to design it. If I compact/repair, it allows me to design the form once. On any subsequent attempts to view in design mode, though, it crashes before...

In the last 1-3 weeks, we have had numerous users of Task Manager 2007 (www.orbisoft.com) complain that they can no longer export certain reports (Task Manager 2007 uses a Sagekey.com Access 97 runtime) to Excel 2003 or Word 2003 format. They say they get an error message then both Task Manager 2007 and Office 2003 shut down. Any ideas why this is happening?

I'm running Access 2003, modifying a query that has over 45 fields. When I right click on the field name in Query Design View, and then click Build, Access crashes before the Build window appears. It doesn't happen every time, and using the Zoom window works fine. It appears that it only happens when I want to modify an existing expression. This continues to happen even after the database is repaired and reopened. Anyone have any...

I have happily been using Access 2003 sp1 with SourceSafe 6.0d (build 31222) for two years. However, application database is being upsized to SQL Server 2005, currently sp2 Developer Edition. I can use Source Safe from the SQL Server database though there were warnings about encoding. However, Access crashes with 'Microsoft Office Access has encountered a problem and needs to close' if I try to relink my checked out tables to SQL Server...

This is driving me mad! I have been trying for 3 days now to work out how to do this with no success. I have tables for Customer, Bookings, Entertainment, Act, Agent, and several others. I have created a form to view existing bookings with Customer details as mainform and Bookings and Entertainment as subforms and this works fine. I am trying to create forms to allow the booking clerk to enter a new Booking and am looking to have a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
