I scoured the groups for some hands on code to perform the menial task
of exporting table data from an Access 2000 database to Oracle
database (in this case, it was oracle 8i but i'm assuming this will
work for 9i and even 10g )
No one had what I needed, so I wrote it myself.
I Rule.
This code isn't going for efficiency, and isn't trying to be dynamic.
It doesn't create the table structure in Oracle, that's up to you. (I

I am using Access 2000 and Oracle 9.2.0.x on a Windows 2000. I have
setup Oracle 9.2 ODBC Driver (I have not yet figured how to set
Microsoft's Oracle ODBC driver).
I am exporting a table from Access to Oracle and I get following error:
ODBC Call Failed:
ORA-12571: TNS Packet Failure Error
I see table and its indexes created in Oracle. However, there are no

Hi
I have an Accesss 97 database that imports data from an Oracle database.
Some of the text fileds in the oreacle database have a fileds size larger
than 255 characters. If I just link the oracle tables to Access those large
text fileds apprea in Access as memo fields.
But when if I from VBA use a ODBC-direct connection to open a recordset on a
table in Oracle I cannot read the content of the large text fields. If I try
to assign the...

If anyone has seen this before, please help. I work at a company that
has an Access application front end attached to tables in an Oracle 10g
backend. In order to run our application this way, the client
workstation needs to have the Oracle client with the ODBC driver
installed. When testing this with Oracle 9i, we found we had problems
performing a specific action if the Oracle driver version was anything
but a couple available from...

Hello All,
The short questions are
1 Do you know how to make DSN connection close in Access to Oracle 10g
Express Edition?
&/or

Hi All,
I started developing in Access, and people took notice and so we're
starting to migrate into our corporate's bigger Oracle system.
I'll still be using my developed Access front ends, but will be
migrating my back ends to Oracle ODBC.
1. Does anyone have recommendations for books or web resources for
general rules/guidelines/help on doing this? I haven't found a good

I've worked with mdbs, and with SQL Server to a lesser extent, with
Access as a front end, on commercial-strength systems for quite a
while, starting with A97.
The last 8 months or so, I've been working on Access 2000/2002 with
pass through queries and linked tables to an Oracle 10g backend
(ODBC).
Access seems (still) to beat everything else hands down as a front
end/ prototyping tool for WIndows based systems. With my type of
small...

Using Oracle Migration Workbench, I migrated ms-access 2003 database to oracle 9i. The memo datatype in ms-access mapped to clob datatype in oracle. I have created a system dsn to access oracle tables through ms-access so that the front-end will remain in ms-access.
While fetching clob datatype fields - I get ODBC error
ODBC--call failed.
Function sequence error(#0)

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
