Hi!
Why can't I choose location of the .h/.cpp files in the class wizard? If I
try to place them under a directory in the source tree then I need to
select an existing file! Why can't I just choose a different directory? The
file should be created automatically.

Hi,
I'm asking for help because I read dozens of threads on this subject,
but I still cannot make it work.
I'm developing an ASP script (running on a SBS 2k. I'm a beginner with
ASP) to use on our intranet which does searching on our file server
using Indexing Services.
To let the users specify the scope (from which file-server folder start
to search) I need to display on client pc's (Win 2k or Win XP Pro) a
"choose folder" dialog.

Hello
I wrote a little script (that will be used only under Windows if at
all) where the user should choose a directory and the script will then
process some data files in the directory and write the result there. To
make it a bit more pleasant, it would be nice if the directory were
chosen by the standard win directory chooser. When the script is done,
it could open the the directory, so that the user can check the
results. How to do...

Most of the time, in past apps, my report routines are usually a preview
first and then DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdPrint for the printer dialog.
However, I'm now faced with wanting to send a report to a printer of
choice withoutthe preview. I'm aware of Albert Kallal's snippet of code
that allows you to change the default printer, but I'm wondering if
there's any other way?

hello
how do i create a dialog to allow the user to choose a folder?
i tried FolderBrowserDialog but encountered a couple of problems:
- when you specify the starting location (property RootFolder) you have
to supply a constant such as MyComputer, you're not allowed to supply a
literal value such as "C:\path\to\whatever".
- once you specify the RootFolder, the user isn't allowed to navigate
any higher than that in the directory tree.

Hi all,
I'm a recent, belated convert from Perl. I work in a physics lab and
have been using Python to automate a lot of measurement equipment
lately. It works fabulously for this purpose. Recently I've wanted to
start writing GUIs for some of my programs, for data visualization and
to make the programs easier to use for some of my co-workers.
So far I've experimented with two Python GUI toolkits: Tkinter and
PyGTK. I've had some...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
