I have a Access 2000 database that I am opening with Access 2007.
When I open the datbase in Access 2000 or Access 2003, the database
runs as expected.
In Access 2007 my main form opens, a form with multiple tabs and
subforms, the form now takes a "very" long time (more than 10 minutes)
to load.
Has anyone come across this before, and if so were you able to fix it? 7 4147

You not given much details such as if there is a network involved, or your
application is multi-user and split.
I would work your way thought the following list of things to check however: http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/performancefaq.htm

it is a multi user, where there is a client on each user's c:\ drive,
but they all hit against the same back end database.
The form is opened with a docmd.openform, but there is a Form_Open on
the form itself that processes as the form opens. It makes it through
the whole Form_Open code, all the way to the "Exit Sub", but then
freezes up before it gets back to the original function.
When I go line by line with F8 with the exact same database, but
opened with Access 2003, it makes it back to the original function
that calls the form, but the process freezes when the database is
opened in Access 2007.

To open the form, I have the line: DoCmd.OpenForm "frmECD".
I've read somewhere that opening a form in Office 2007 as a dialog
form may cause problems. Does anyone know if by default, the line
above opens the form in dialog format?
That line will only open frmECD in Dialog mode if you have Dialog mode set in
its Properties sheet.

A comment and a question
To anyone who is using conditional formatting, beware that in Access
2007 the color pallette is not the same as the color pallette in Access
2003. So if you have a particular color you were using as a standard
throughout your application, the only way to continue using that color
is to code the color.
Anyone else notice how forms in Access 2007 display the conditional
formatting much slower than in Access...

Hello Everyone,
I'm having some very weird behavior on a couple of Access forms. (Not
all forms, just some of them).
The forms have been working for years, under Access XP/2003 etc, and
last week upgraded from Windows XP/Office 2003 to Vista x64/Office
2007.
Under Access 2007, a couple of forms are now taking 60 seconds to

Hi
I need help. I have a ms access 2003 database that I would like to

references it wanted a DAO2535.TLB file witch I gave it, and a
utility.mda file witch I think i gave it. The instructions on
Microsoft's web sight were not very clear where to put the utility.mda
so I am not sure if I have it at the right place. The Database does
not ask for it anymore.

Hi all,
So I bought a new laptop 10 days ago to test my apps with Vista. (home premium)
Apparently Office 2007 is pre-installed. (a time limited but complete test version, no SP1)
So I take the opportunity to test some new features of Access2007 before actually 'stepping over'.
First thing that troubles me of course is 'the ribbon', but my question now is about speed.
I opened one of my Access 2000-apps in Access 2007.
Speed and...

My company is in the process of upgrading everyone to Access 2007. Since my machine was upgraded I've been highly frustrated with an apparent random behaviour byAccess that I can't understand. It involves databases that I created in Access 2002 (i.e. *.mdb files).
What happens is when I open a form that has the border style property set to 'Dialog', Access 2007 is correctly preserving the size of the form itself (i.e. if you look in the...

Hi !! I'm about to develop a new project for a client.
Should I go about it in Access 2003 or 2007 ? Purchasing it either
for me or for my client is not a major consideration here ... what I'd
like to know is the stability, speed & ease of use of both the
products.
I believe Access 2007 has a new file format too and that it may be
slower.

clicked.

Basic question:
Does anyone know how to go about adding a control to an Access 2007 form that will allow viewing a Word 2007 document?
Reason for asking:
My office is about to receive 100+/- Word 2007 documents that contain data that needs to be imported into various fields of an Access 2007 table. To facilitate the import process, I was thinking of creating a form in Access that would have a Word control (or "window") at the bottom of the...
