Autofill table cell

2 New Member
I want a cell in the table to automatically insert a specific text in the cell but I am unable to do this. I am pulling information from different tables to create a report off of a SQL Query but 3 out of 4 do not have the customers name in those tables because those tables were specifically designed for those customers so there is no need to have the column at the time. I now created a column for customers in those tables now but would like to have the customers name show in the table automatically. I even have tried SQL statements but I can not figure this one out.

I hope this make sense.

Thanks, Brian

Not really Brian.

Are you intending to update the records of the table in place? That can be done with an UPDATE query.

We could probably be more helpful with a clearer question.

The update query helped great by filling in the empty cells. Now I want the table cell to automatically fill the cell with one customer name.... lets say APS. When I run my reports off the query I need to have the customer APS pulled in the report which means the talbe would need to have APS in the cell to pull.

I'm not sure if I can do this in the Query by automatically filling in the cell with APS when a new record is created.

I hope this explanation is better.

Thanks, Brian

I'm afraid not Brian.

When talking to someone it's possible to be very lazy in one's speech and get away with it - and many people do that. There are generally reams of other information, clues, available to help the listener catch up with the meaning. The human brain works extremely well at that task.

Unfortunately, in written text most of these clues are not there. When I get half way through a sentence and find it doesn't actually read correctly - I have nothing to fall back on to guess what you actually mean.

In technical text this is further complicated by the nature of the task. Far more information needs to be available if the information is to be used to base decisions on. If this is unclear then we can't even make first base.

This sounds as if I may be trying to insult you, which is not my intention.

It is a sad fact that most people struggle to express themselves clearly in text. Mainly because expressing in speech is so much easier and people don't see the benefit of learning to be clear. You are simply suffering from being "normal" in this respect.

Unfortunately, that doesn't make it any easier for me to interpret what you mean late in the evening, so if you would like to be clearer then I can help you.

Is it possible to autofill a field based on what is entered into another field in a form? My form has an employee field, and department field. In an Items Table, I have fields FldEmployee, and FldDepartment. FldEmployee is looked up from an TblEmployee Table which also has fields FldEmployee and FldDepartment. This FldDepartment field is looked up from a TblDepartment table that just has FldDepartments. I hope I explained that OK The...

Hi, I remember at one point access would autofill a text box when filtering by form, Like for example as I would type it would come up with matching records, similar to AutoComplete in Internet Explorer, I now have nearly 4,000 records, is this the reason why it does not perform this function anymore? Thanks...

Happy 4th, all How do you turn off the following type of autofill: Example: I have created a table with four text fields. When entering numeric data in these fields, by the third field, a number will automatically fill the field. It will be based on the numeric progression of the first two numbers - so If field 1 = 1 and field 2 = 3, the third field will automatically enter 5

I'm retouching our corporate web site that, among other things, allows customers to log in and pay their invoices online. I noticed that on the checkout page, the credit card number textbox autofills with past entries for that textbox. My development workstation has the Google Toolbar installed; I'm not sure whether the autofill functionality is native to the browser or coming from the Google Toolbar. In either case, is there any way...

Hi, I have some comboboxes that are created dynamically at run time based on user actions. I found a procedure on a message board to autofill the combobox text from the dataview that the comboboxes are bound to. It works perfectly on the comboboxes that I have created at design time, but the ones that I create runtime behave differently. The problem is that when the user tabs onto the combobox, the box stays blank, which is fine. ...

Hi, I'm a non-windows programmer, and have been asked about creating modyifying a table to include autofill capability much like that of Excel. That is type in 1, 2, select those cells and drag using the 'autofill' black square, and end up with 3, 4, 5, etc. It is slighlty more complex than the example and may have a mixture of alpha and numerals, but nothing more complex than Excel currently can handle. There are two options I am looking...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
