I'm a bit confused.
* Typically you make a form a Popup form by setting that form-level
property. It's typically not done dynamically. Is that what you need?
* If you minimize the database container the popup form minimizes with
it. You can create the illusion of the db container disappearing by
hiding it behind the popup form, and moving it when the popup moves.

Hi Tom

Thanks for the quick reply
Iwas hoping to be able to pop the form out of the db container
dynamically
but as you say this is just not possible

I guess I'll just have to live without it. Thanks anyway

If you are looking for opinon on what's useful in Access 2007, there's a new article at: http://allenbrowne.com/Access2007.html Covers what's good (useful features), what's mixed (good and bad), what's gone (features removed), what's fixed (old issues solved), what's broken (new bugs), configuration, compatibility, should you buy, and links. It is opinion, so you may disagree, but hopefully it's an informative summary.

We are in the process of upgrading to 2007. I have written a bug tracking system, and the file is in Access 2000 format. For the most part, it's working fine with 2007...however, I have had a couple of issues and they're only on one machine, not in general 1. On one machine, the main form responds VERY slowly while entering data. I checked the db (a sql server backend) and saw no locks or anything out of the ordinary. The tables...

Following on from an earlier post... I can reliably corrupt a record by doing the following ... Open two separate but identical front ends on one PC each linking to the same back end. Edit a records in one front end and leave it unsaved. Edit the same record in the other front end and save the change. Save the change in the first front end - this pops up the Write Conflict message to which I click Save.

I am considering building some distributable commercial applications. For about a year now, I have been using Access2000. This was my first venture into object oriented database development. Having a background in Pascal and some C++, I would have preferred those languages, but VBA made do. The SQL was fine. I believe that Security issues on the backend, and data integrity/ corruption complaints over the network may be a stumbling...

A client of mine likes some of the new bells and whistles in Access 2007, and is thinking about converting our A03 format MDB to an A07 format file. However, while some of the users have A07, many do not, and it's not clear when they would get it. His thought was to use the upcoming Access 2007 runtime to allow the users who are still running Office 2003 to be able to run the database. While I use multiple versions of Access on my...

Should I expect any issues from upgrading Access applications built on 2003? I've built a few that are deployed into a Citrix environment, but the company I'm working for are going to force a 2007 rollout within the next few months; these applications are project critical and I can't accept any downtime and need to know if there are any major issues in a straight upgrade of .mdb's? Thanks in advance

Hi, I'd created a MDE under Access 2003. It is now under testing stage. Some of the users will use Access 2003 runtime and some will use Access 2007 runtime to run this MDE. I installed the Access 2007 runtime on a test machine and place the MDE in the Desktop for user's initial testing. I did not create a trust area for this MDE in the test machine as well as in my development machine. When I tested the MDE using /runtime switch in my...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
