Frustration in coding MS Chart in Access

Hello - I'm trying to turn on data labels that only show the series
names--not the data values, in a MS Graph (default line graph). I'm
getting a compile error "Named argument not found" on this VB
statement - "ShowSeriesName :=True"

I've tried different combinations of the code...

Private Sub Detail_Format(C ancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer)
Dim objChart As Graph.Chart
Set objChart = Graph0.Object
With objChart
.ApplyDataLabel s Type:=xlDataLab elsShowLabel, LegendKey:=Fals e,
AutoText:=True, ShowSeriesName: =True, ShowCategoryNam e:=False,
ShowValue:=Fals e
.DataLabel.Font .Size = 9
.DataLabel.Posi tion = xlLabelPosition Above
End With

....and have searched the web, but have not come across any solution to
this. My version of Access is XP, and it has the Microsoft Graph 10.0
Object Library in the references.

Is it the Line Graph? Is it the 10.0 Object Library? the code?

Has anyone simply wanted series names as data labels in MS Graph in
Access and accomplished this? If so, I would love to hear from you.
Thanks a bunch!

Hi Phil,

Thanks for responding and posting your code. I was not customizing MS
Graph as much as you--just wanted the series names at the data points,
but now, am leaning towards just notifying users that the graph is
only good for one to several synchronous series plots. Even with
small font sizes, the graph would have been too busy. I can produce
the same data without a graph. Have a great day.

Hi, I am using Access 2002 and am creating a scatter-chart on a form in which the X-axis is a date. I can format and display the x-axis properly as a date. However, when I close and reopen Access, the data are incorrectly plotted with an x-axis that begins with a date of 1900. Only by toggling from the option "chart by column" to "chart by row" and then back to "chart by column", can I get the correct date on the x-axis. The problem...

How does Access determine how many data points it will use in a chart and is there any way of forcing it to use more data points? My Access chart is only showing 7 data points of the 100+ that are available. If I dump the same data into Excel and chart it, the Excel chart shows all data points. Any help is appreciated.

Group, I am trying to build a gantt chart in a MS Access for but I can't seem to get it to pick up the second data series. In excel, you create a stacked bar chart using fields "Key Date" and "Durration". Once the chart plots you "hide" the "Key Date" field. In Access I can create a bar chart and then goto "Chart Type" and change the chart from bar to stacked bar. That's where it gets stuck because it will only include one data...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
