Odd problem - hangs on opening VB

Using A2000. Its been working OK

Yesterday it started hanging when trying to open VB using Alt-F11. Watching
the TaskManager, it shows Microsoft Access and Running before I click
Alt-F11.

Then when I click Alt-F11., the status changes to "Not Responding" within a
second and then it shows another line in the task manager labeled Microsoft
Access Not Responding (there are 2 of these). Ending one, drops both of
then off the task manager.

Just before this started happening, I installed.
QuickBooks Point of Sale, QuickBooks SDK for POS, GoToMeeting
And updated flash or something because QB POS reqired it (I wish I
remembered what it was)

I removed all the programs installed above (except the flash or ??) and
repaired Access but still have the problem.

Any ideas on what else I can do?

Hi, I'm using proc_open to start a process on a WindowsXP server. If the process that I start crashes for some reason, the whole PHP parsing hangs. When opening the TaskManager I can see my process still exists, meaning it actually hasn't ended although it crashed. any ideas how to solve this?

Hi, I'm writing an ASP application to open an excel workbook, then run a macro stored in the excel file, which produces outputs that will be displayed back onto my ASP application. Now the problem I'm having is whenever I try to open a workbook (of any format, i.e. 97/2000, 95, or xp, and of any size, and with or without macros), excel just hangs forever, and if I killed the excel application in task manager, my asp application will...

I am trying to write client and server programs that communicate with named pipes. There is one multithreaded server that handles all of the requests and multiple multithread clients that make the requests. The problem is that the client hangs at the WriteFile request when running under load. All the processes are running on the same box. I am wondering if there is something I am doing wrong fundamentally. One thing I am doing that...

I have an MS Access 2003 database that uses a SQL Server 2000 database as it's back-end. The database runs well most of the time but if the users dont use the database for a period of time (approx 10 minutes) and return to it then the connection hangs. When they try to perform any action that requires a connection to the SQL Server database then the egg-timer mouse pointer displays and the database stops responding. It's as if the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
