I need a button, on click you can go previous page (like histry.go(-1))
and then the page is immediately refreshed.
The first page is table from database. When you click to change item,
another page is opened, when you can edit. When you finish editing and
click 'save' you go back to the first page, but this page show old
content (reload/refresh is needed).
I cannot write absolute back address in the Edit page - it can be opened
from...

I have encountered a problem that I am hoping someone can shed some
light on.
I have a multi-user A97 app. All users have a personal front-end MDE
accessing a shared back-end.
There is no specific MDW file for the app as security rules are housed
within the app itself.
On a couple of occasions, different users have launched the app only

I am creating a new database for use within our company, that I'd like
to make reasonably secure (short of a true server based solution). The
back-end of a non-server based database seems to be the biggest
security hole, due to the ease of opening, linking, and/or importing
raw data directly from the back-end database. I've read information
that indicates that locking down the back-end tables to the owner, then
using RWOP queries in the...

I have an Access 2000 application that uses the following function to
re-link my tables when I switch from my Current back end to a Dummy
back end. I also use it to refresh my links.
Function CreateODBCLinkedTables() As Boolean
On Error GoTo CreateODBCLinkedTables_Err
Dim strTblName As String, strConn As String
Dim db As DataBase, rs As Recordset, tbl As TableDef
Dim DatabaseName As String
Dim ServerName As String

Here's my plan for creating nightly backups of the production back-end file
(the IT staff in their infinite wisdom have prevented use of Windows
Scheduler and users do not have administrative rights to Windows).
Candace Tripp has an automatic backing up program that I modified for our
use. You can schedule a time for the backup to occur. Since Windows task
scheduler is not available to us, this means that the auto backup program
will...

Hello -
I have read many threads regarding back-end security and have found
them all useful. I have a couple of (what seem to be basic) questions:
I have a secured front-end and back-end database. (I did use the
security wizard for this.) By using the shortcuts provided, both files
require a password to get in.
Here is the problem: if I try to access the front-end through Windows

Using Access 2003 front-end, with SQL Server 2005 backend.
I need to make the front-end application automatically refresh the
linked
SQL Server tables.
New tables will be added dynamically in the future, so the front-end
application
must have a way to keep up with this (instead of manually linking
them).

OK, running access 2003 in win xpsp2 and access 2007 in win vista.
This is the question...
We have a db, split in front end (FE.mdb) and backend (BE.mdb)
FE has tons of linked tables from BE.

Excuse my noobness. I am managing an access database that is shared
by 4 users. Management does not want to use any technologies outside
of access for this application (no SQL Server, etc). I have split the
database into front end and back end databases and put the front end
on each of the users' computers. All users can open the front end
simultaneously, but once somebody updates data in the form, the back
end locks up.
What I...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
