Access question - forms

1 New Member
Basic Access User. Using Access2003, I am attempting to do several thnigs, and they are:

1. I need the information I place in the form to show in the Table once I use the command button to go to "new record". As is stands right now, I have to close the table and reopen it to see the information that I update. The text boxes are bound to the Table fields.

2. I have a second set of command buttons that are used like a "clicker", hit the button and it adds, incrmentally (+1) to the total. The code is working fine for this, however, I have a small "view" window back to the table it feeds. There are 9 categories (buttons), and only one works - although I have the same code and setup for each button.

If this is too confusing, I apologize!! Thank you for your help!

1. What code are you using to "Go to the next record"?
2. What code are you using to do this increment?

From 1, I assume that you are looking at the contents of the table concurrently as you are running the form. This is not too straightforward , but if there is no filter or sort currently applied, then you can safely use the following concept :
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Call DoCmd.SelectObject(acTable,"YourTable",FALSE)
  2. Call DoCmd.RunCommand(acCmdRemoveFilterSort)
I'm not sure what you're using in 2 as code, but if any one of them works this indicates that the view window is managing to stay up-to-date. We need more details of what your code is doing to what to help further. As it stands, your question is a bit like saying "I have some code that's not working - where is it wrong?" There's not really much to go on.

Hi, Ive got 3 forms, (a subform within a subform within a form) and when I refresh the outermost form, Access closes and offers to send an error report. The forms worked fine a few weeks ago, but now they cause this error in Access 2002 (Access 2000 is fine) Each of the sub forms use values from their parent forms to produce results.

Hello, We are in the process of examining our current main application. We have to do some major changes and, in the process, are questionning/validating the use of MS Access as front-end. The application is relatively big: around 200 tables, 200 forms and sub-forms, 150 queries and 150 repports, 5GB of data (SQL Server 2000), 40 users. ...

Hi, I have a finished Microsoft Access app that we are distributing using an Access runtime. This works fine (mostly) but I'm sold on the advantages of dot.NET and upgrading to vb.NET seems like a good idea for the future. I'm also keen to develop new software in vb.NET as soon as possible. I will work out how to port the app and how to...

SQL Server will be used as the back-end database to a non trivial client application. In question is the choice of client application: I need to be able to speak intelligently about when one client (MS Access vs ..NET Windows Forms) would be preferred over the other. While I have some good arguments on both sides, I would appreciate your...

Hello I downloaded Office 2007 for this reason : It seems, once again, that it is impossible to save any modification done in a VBA library, from the main project in Access. The save button remains desperatly grayed. It also seems impossible to open the library in another Access instance
