Hi,
I am trying to insert Null value in column(ShipDate ) in my table. That column(ShipDate )'s type id date/time and format is short date.
I am using "" to insert Null in that column(ShipDate ) but it shows warning that customer can't append all the records in the append query.
Customer set 1 field(s) to Null due to a type conersion failure, and it didn't add 0 record(s) to the table due to key violation, 0 record(s) due to lock violations, and 0 record(s) due to validation rule violations.
Do you want to run the action query anyway?
But still if I click on Yes than it will simply execute the query and insert null value in table.
And if I click on No than it cancel the execution of query.
its caused just because i set type as date/time and put format as short date in that column(ShipDate ) in my table.
How can I remove this warning?

Your first order of business is to clear the problem. Only then do you want to think about removing warning messages.
Start with understanding the difference between Null and an empty string ("" or '') as you've actually tried to use. When you have this sorted, go to the design of the field and make sure that the Null (or empty string if that's what you plan to use) is accepteed as data for that field.
When that's all sorted let us know how you got on and if there's anything further you need.

Have two tables "abc" and "xyz", where "xyz" is a superset, column-wise, of
"abc".
Is there any simple way to inject all the rows of "abc" into "xyz"?
Tried "insert into xyz select * from abc" but got a complaint of "column
count doesn't match value count at row 1", which of course is true.
Any way to tell SQL to simply set defaults for the missing columns?

Hi All.
I'm trying to insert data into 2 tables (parent-child) using the ADO.NET's
SetParentRow method. The parent table has an identity column as primary key.
When I execute the code below I get the following message: "Cannot insert
the value NULL into column 'hdtID', table
'myinstance.mydb.Hotel_Details_Lang'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT
fails." Any idea?
PS: To create the DataAdapters, I'm using SqlCommandBuilder.

Hi,
I keep getting an error when I try to insert a new record into a table (SQL

used Visual Studio (2003) IDE SQL Data Adapter Wizard to create the stored
procedures, data adapter, and dataset using a simple select statement with
one paramater. Everything works fine except the 'Unique Null Allowed' column
requires a value on Insert or I get an error. What am I...

Hi
Shortly, I keep invoices in a table.
Occasionally, someone will fire the execution of a stored procedure
(SP) that performs several UPDATEs against (potentially) all invoices
OLDER than a date that is supplied to the SP as a parameter.
The SP is usually a lengthy process (it takes at least 30 mins).
The problem is that SQL server 2000 Dev Edition doesn't allow me to
insert new invoices that are "younger", while the SP is executing....

Hi,
I'm trying to insert NULL for a column into SQL DB through a formating a string, but not through insert ...values (?) and i don't see a NULL in the DB., the column value appears blank, but i expect a NULL.
When i explictly assign NULL to that variable, it treats the values as a string, not a NULL and isnull is not returning the ROW.
$_data will have an address of the row fetched.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...
