We use a number of similar databases and frequently create a new
database using a backup restore of another similar database. We try to
keep changes between databases in _Additional tables - like Account
Additional, Sale_Additional so most tables stay the same. The latest
restored database (I'll call it DBaseA) is behaving differently in VB6
code and I need help trying to make it work.
I have been using use an ADODB.Command to execute...

Does anyone know how to use VBA to relink tables between two MS Access
databases? We have two databases, one with VBA code and the other with
data tables. The tables are referenced by linked tables in the database
where the code resides. If we move the database with the data tables to
a new directory, the links are no longer valid.
I tried to update the links by changing the Connect property and refreshing:
Set td = db.TableDefs(0)...

Hello there,
I have a front end database that I have recently made very many changes
to to allow off-line use. I keep copies of the databases on my hard
drive and link to them rather than the live databases on the network.
Is there a way, via code, when I get back in-house from being on the
road to click a button, and select the backends I want to link to?
I would want to delete all the current links and link to the "live"

I want to use the printer select menu's and the open file menu's from
within my Access 2002 databases. When I do it uses a file called
COMDLG32.OCX In many of our locations they don't have the same version
that I have and the db fails to run. I've taken those things out of my
db's and removed the common dlg check from my references and everything
is running fine. I've also sent my copy of comdlg32 to the user having
a problem and that runs...

I want my software to be independant of operation system and databases.
That's why I want to use odbc, and don't want to use MFC.
Here I have some questions to ask:
1. On unix (like sun solaris), does there exists any kind of midware
like odbc?
2. I search on the internet, and find most of the examples are based on
PHP. Is there any c++ examples?
3.Once I chose odbc, does that mean that whatever kind of database I

hi,
i have written a class for session handling, and i want to use it to
keep track of the user.
After authenticating the user in login page i am storing the session
info like uname etc.. in a object of session class. I am creating this
object in the login page.
Now how can i make this object persist between subsequent page
requests. and i dont want to use GET method.
Is it sensible to use hidden fields OR will i have to create a new

I searched around a little bit, but didn't come up with the answer to
this question, but somewhere in the back of my mind, I think this can
be done...
Let's say we have two different company functions: Sales and
Operations
The Operations database is considered the "main" one...we are using
this daily and it works very well.

I'm wondering if I'm doing this right, as far as using another class
object as a PHP class property.
class my_baseclass {
var $Database;
var $ErrorMessage;
var $TableName;
var $RecordSet;
function my_baseclass(){
$this->TableName = "";

I'm actually curious if there's a way to write a generator function
(not a generator expression) in C, or what the simplest way to do it
is... besides link the Python run-time.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
