  1. DoCmd.SetWarnings False
  2. DoCmd.OpenQuery "query"
  3. DoCmd.SetWarnings True

If your report is based off the query there should be no need to open the query at all.

Could you post the rest of the code you are using? Try to elaborate a little more on what you are trying to accomplish so we can create the best fit solution for you.

For example are you opening the query because you need to manipulate it before executing the report?

  2. DoCmd.OpenQuery "query"
  3. DoCmd.SetWarnings True
The query will still open. The SetWarnings command only suppresses the prompts that accompany action queries such as updates, inserts or deletes.

Hello....

I am aware of whatthe SetWarnings command does, but, from what was explained it is hard to determine what exactly is being asked.

Thanks

"If your report is based off the query there should be no need to open the query at all." I was unaware of this.....I thought I needed to run the query first in order to update the information.... .I removed the DoCmd.openquery and it seems to be working....

By the way, I had the turn warnings on and off in the code but that does NOT supress the results of the query from being dislayed.

Hello!

If it is a select query updating the report, then no, you do not need to run it.

Sorry for the confusion!

Thanks

I make a mySQL database query and display the first 10 results. Then the user can click on "next" link to get the next 10 results. How can I do that without issuing the sql query again? Can I keep the results from the first query? Jens Martin Schlatter

I'm just about to start a project that needs to combine the results of a SQL Server query with the results of an Index Server query. The basic idea is that the user enters/selects a bunch of search criteria on a form. Most of the criteria selected by the user will be used to select records from the database - standard WHERE clause stuff - but the user can also enter free-text that should be searched for in associated uploaded documents. The...

Hi, I wanted to know if this is possible and if so, how do I do it. Say, I have a query "SELECT * FROM Table WHERE Column="some_value". This executes on a very large data set and I would like to return the results as they query executes rather than wait for the whole query to execute. Basically, I want to get the results as they are prepared by the database. Any way to do this?

Hi Everyone, I'm back for some more expert help. Here's what I am doing and what I tried. My database has entries with Contract Names and Expiry Dates, among other fields. I have a form designed to show the expiring contracts. To do this I use a straight forward query in my form's ON LOAD code strwhere = " BETWEEN #" & Now() & "# AND #" & DateAdd("m", 6, Now()) & "#" Set MyQueryDef = MyDatabase.CreateQueryDef("qryMattersQuery",...

This is a question that someone familiar with ASP.NET and ADO.NET DataSets and DataTables should be able to answer fairly easily. The basic question is how I can efficiently match data from one dataset to data in a second dataset, using a common key. I will first describe the problem in words and then I will show my code, which has most of the solution done already. I have built an ASP.NET that queries an Index Server and returns a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
