How to create a dynamic multipage Crosstab report with about 50 - 60columns

I want create a report based on the crosstab query which normally
returns about 50 - 60 columns. The columns have names of the counties
and they keep changing for every session. Is there a way to program a
dynamic multi-page crosstab report?

This link is quite excellent. I think you can apply it to your problem.

Thanks Salad for your response. I reviewed the web site. But I think I
need a few more questions answered.

1) I will need at least a 3-4 page report. How do I create the left-
side row header (or identifier) on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th pages?
2) Do I need to create all 60 columns and then hide the 10 - 15
columns based on crosstab query results? What is the best way to do
this?
3) How do I bind the columns?

If buiding your report in Excel using a Pivot Table is a possibility,
most problems you mention would vanish.
However it is only usable if you only have numeric data in the value
field.

First, I should start by saying I am creating a database to be used by some very impatient, non-computer literate people. It needs to be seameless in it's operation from their point of view. I want them to do as little as possible when they run their reports. I have a crosstab query that displays usage of items for each month. It looks pretty much like this: ITEM DESC UM 12/02 1/03 2/03 3/03 ...ETC. 1 Solution ...

Hello Newsgroup. You have all been very helpful in the past and I thank you. I try to ask relevant questions so that they don't just benefit me, but also benefit the group. I'm currently overwhelmed by useless examples across the web on how to make "dynamic crosstab reports" without myself having a basic understanding about how to retrieve and assign recordsources, etc., from fields in a query to fields in the report. I see all these...

I tried to ask this question before on the 14th of January but I never got a reply. I'm still struggling with the problem. I'll try to rephrase the question: I have a crosstab query with rows of students and columns of activities and the data are the students' scores in each activity. No problem, almost. The problem is that there are five classes at the moment and will be more classes (or courses) in future semesters. I don't want...

Hi All, i want to create a dynamic crosstab report. The method shown in http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;328320 is not a dynamic report as it require the user to manual add new textbox if there's a new employee. What i actually want is the report do not require the user to change anything before running the report. The report will check the total num of col and create the exact number of textbox on the report.I...

Hi I've created a crosstab query and displayed it as a sub-report in my main report. This is fine until the data changes and the column names become incorrect. I know I have to create a 'dynamic crosstab query' but I don't know how to!! I've read the "How to..." on the Microsoft site but it mainly gives an example rather than explain the basics, which I can't work out. My context is:

I currently have a solution that requires 2 sub queries, where each of them is convereted into a crosstab query and then I join the crosstab queries to a result. I would like to make this more dynamic and allow for users to filter, and to do so I would like to be able to create the resulting query all in VBA code. I can create a recordset of each inital query, but is there a way to run a query on that, and then subsequently, a query...

Thanks for posting the dynamic crosstab report, it is very helpful. For the dynamic crosstab report named "EmployeeSales" based on tables in the sample database Northwind.mdb, the "Totals" are rounded to the nearest dollar, (i.e. $1,620.83 rounded as $1,621.00). Could someone help me on how to get the exact Number? Thanks in advance!!

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
