Help with Date format in MS Access

2 New Member
I'm trying to create a field on a form which uses date format like dd/mm/yyyy. The problem is I don't want to change the system date and time format which is now mm/dd/yyyy. Any help would be highly appreciated

There may be a more elegant solution (i think it might be the format() function)

but.....

field=Day(Dte) & "/" & month(Dte) & "/" & year(Dte)

should work

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Private Sub YourDateField_AfterUpdate()
  2.   Me.YourDateField = Format(Me.YourDateField, "dd/mm/yyyy")
  3. End Sub
  4.

I have an MS Access form, where a user enters the date by selecting it from three combo boxes for day, month and year. I convert it to 11-Jan-2004 format and attempt to write to the table with an UPDATE query. It doesn't work and the debugger gives me "Type Mismatch" error. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Private Sub Form_AfterUpdate() Dim dtDateBooked Dim strSQL As String

Hello, I have a multithreaded windows NT service application (vb.net 2003) that I am working on (my first one), which reads a message queue and creates multiple threads to perform the processing for long running reports. When the processing is complete it uses crystal reports to load a template file, populate it, and then export it to a PDF. It works fine so far....

Dear NG, Can someone assist me with writing the little code that is needed to run an update table query each time the database is opened? From what I've been able to glean from this group, the Autoexec Macro looks like the way to go. Could someone please assist? Thank you very much! Mike

I have a 200 record database that includes a date/time field, AnnivDate, for a wedding anniversary. AnnivDate has nulls and some incorrect year data. I have been creating the Access database using data imported from an Excel file and the person entering into Excel only cared about the month and day portion and Excel added the current year to the field value. I want to produce a report that shows upcoming anniversaries using a parameter...

I have created an Excel spreadsheet that has a lot of data. What I want to do is import the spreedsheet to Access and create a form so that I can print each row per page in a proffessional manner. The problem is that whenever I import the data to access my dates show up in 38478 instead of 05/06/05. How can I convert this number back to the date format in access?

Hello all, General question for back-end database that has numerous date fields where the database will be used in regions that put the month first, and regions that do not. Should I save a date format in the table design, such as: mm/dd/yyyy? What I've done for years is to store the date format in date fields, then on the forms, based on their region, I would set the date formats on form_load

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
