Query Based Form or Other Solution

2 New Member
I have a database that is used for Salvage Vehicles. (At present I am using 2002, but will be moving to 2007 shortly.)

Presently there is a Switchboard that opens the Form View of the Salvage table. I need a "Popup Form" to open where "Non-Access" users can enter one of 5 or 6 different fields and then have that vehicle show in the Form view with all it's data. They may enter one of Unit #, Serial8, License Plate, etc...

Could someone please point me in the right direction for this? If more information is needed, I will gladly provide.

Thanks
Cindy

Cindy, I would need much more information to be able to begin to answer this question, if you can put table structures, queries, form names and controls, this would help a great deal or simply, if it's not to big, you can add it as an attachment, and I would be more than happy to take a look at it.

Ok, before I headbutt the computer... don't know why when I add criteria in a query, I get an 'invalid procedure call'. I also don't know why after searching the help in access, the various access newsgroups, the access support centre, I can seem to find no similar situation. I am not using any references, or VBA at all in the first place. I am trying to set up a simple (or so I thought) query to work with the text of two tables. ...

Dear colleagues: I read somewhere that you could obtain the results of a query as a form. I have design a database for my books and waht I would like is to obtain the results of my queries (which use parameters for language, author, genre, etc) in the form of a bunch of the original forms I used for creating the book entries. I don't know if I explained the problem correctly. As a result of a query I

Greetings, I am merging a series of different tables into one query to export decision-making information. I have some architecture issues I need to ask for help on. I have no programming training. I will explain my structure before asking my questions. I have data from a table (updated monthly by adding the most current month’s data) that is evaluated by certain arithmetic, given an adjective to describe it, and then being exported...

I don't even think this is possible, but I wanted to make sure before I told my boss we need another solution. Essentially he wants to do a Query by Form. He would like to be able to type the goal into one of 4 fields, and then multiply what he types into the field by the result of another query. Essentially it looks like this: Forms!goal!txtRR*PTO!

I want to base a form on a crosstab query. The query shows statistics for a user defined period. The column headings will look something like this: ClientID Month01 Month02 Month03 etc.. So if the user selects 3 months in the criteria form, there will be 3 (month) column headings, if he selects 6 months, the will be 6 headings.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
