Form Conditional Formatting

First off I have searched on this forum and others for about 1.5 hours and can't find relevant information.

I have a form that is in viewsheet or datasheet mode so when you click it it looks like a spreadsheet.

this is the code that i want to expand but I have to get it working first.

With Me.Description
If .Value = "Print Not Available" Then
.ForeColor = vbRed
End If
End With

description is a column in the frmDatabase.

However it doesn't change the datasheet. It reads the value correctly and even runs through the forecolor and changes it to vbred however it doesn't push those changes to the spreadsheet. So it looks like it runs through the loop correctly but doesn't apply the conditional formatting to the spreadsheet.

update I changed it to

strDestination = me.destination

select case
case "Print Not Available"
me.destination. backcolor = vbblack
end select

that doesn't work HOWEVER this does

select case
case "Print Not Available"
me.destination = "Works"
end select

so it will allow me to change value but not backcolor or anything like that

Where do you have this code placed? It would help to actually see the entire sub it resides in.
