Quick 2007 Upgrade Question

I am looking for a quick sanity check, to make sure I my view of a
problem is reasonable.

Our organization just upgraded from Access 2003 to Access 2007. One
of our MS Access databases is not working the way it used to. It is
my understanding that this is a typical upgrade problem with Access
2007.

The database in question has a number of complex forms that talk to
one another. There is a lot of VBA code in the background making it
all work together.

After the upgrade to Access 2007, some of the screens stopped sending
information to one another.

Online, I found this statement regarding Access 2007:

Compatibility issues Access 2007 cannot understand some expressions
that work in previous versions. For example, this expression in the
Control Source of a text box results in #Name:
=[Form].[RecordsetClone].[RecordCount]

Soooooo.... is it reasonable for me to assume the problem is caused by
the type of compatibility issue noted above?

Someone who works with Acess all the time maybe sees this all the
time.

As always, any comments will be much appreciated.

Why the heck was this dropped? All my dbs use ULS even the complex ones. It aint perfect, it's too fiddly, but it works. How will I be able to say "These users can run these reports and these users can't." in Access 2007? Will I have to create my own tables (tblSecurityGroups, tblSecurityUsers) and code the whole thing? Thanks, Paul

I have an old machine running Mandrake 9.2 and PHP 4.3.1 hosting several websites. With the coming changes to daylight savings time in March 2007, what are my options in correcting the current calculation on this machine? Ideal option: RPM patch. Worst option: upgrade OS (it's a very old machine).

I am already at the 3rd tier of MS and they cannot figure this out yet.. Bought Office 2007 Small Business Upgrade. Install completed the first time (only), yet each time you start Outlook, Word or Excel, the windows installer starts again. You can successfully cancel out of all the pop-ups and eventually get to the program, but something is not right. Plus - Business contact manager does not work nor does Accounting Express. Here is what...

I currently have a handful of Access 2000 tools I've written for my office. Here in the next few weeks, the office is getting upgraded to Office 2007. My question is, does anybody know how much trouble my Access 2000 tools are going to have running on Access 2007? Am I going to have to rewrite all my code (or half, or 1/3 of my code) or rebuild the tools again in Access 2007 as happy little .acdb databases (or whatever that new extension...

This is something I can't test (don't have 2007) and found no definitive answer, but a few conflicting ones. Will a 2003 database work correctly in Access 2007? Don't want to do any design work, just execute and use the database in 2007. And will Office and Access 2003 work correctly in Vista? Jeff

Hi I need help. I have a ms access 2003 database that I would like to upgrade to ms access 2007. The first time I opened I had to fix a few references it wanted a DAO2535.TLB file witch I gave it, and a utility.mda file witch I think i gave it. The instructions on Microsoft's web sight were not very clear where to put the utility.mda so I am not sure if I have it at the right place. The Database does not ask for it anymore. I have...

10 years ago, the below was written (see very end, after my signature RL). What, if anything, has changed? I have Access 2003 and soon Access 2007 on a Windows XP Professional or Windows Vista Ultimate machine, with SQL Server Express running on it, and I want somebody, with a password (which I will provide) to be able to log onto a A03 or A07 dB from the internet. Now that I type this I realize that unless I put the database onto a...

Hi !! I'm about to develop a new project for a client. Should I go about it in Access 2003 or 2007 ? Purchasing it either for me or for my client is not a major consideration here ... what I'd like to know is the stability, speed & ease of use of both the products. I believe Access 2007 has a new file format too and that it may be slower.

After spending 15 minutes clicking around cyber-ville to find this forum, I've cooled off enough to write a post that needs to be read by SOMEONE at Microsoft. I run Windows XP-Pro on both my laptop and PC and have upgraded Office suite AND Outlook to the '07 version. That's big bucks for 2 machines plus Outlook. To do anything beyone send a basic email or create a basic document takes several minutes to several hours! I consider...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
