Problem with Parameter Query

1 New Member
I have created a query asking to calculate a third number using two fields in the query. However when I run the query I get a enter parameter query box asking me to enter information on one of the fields when the information is in the query.

My question is how do I remove this request box when I didn't create it as a parameter, as I just want it to carry out the query action using data in the query cells.

Hey there,

The enter parameter box usually occurs when you have mistyped a field name and the query cannot recognize the field as existing.

Alternatively if you have forgotten to declare the table from which the field belongs to you would also receive the same parameter box.

My suggestion is to carefully examine all field names and ensure that they are spelt correctly and match the spelling of the actual field names in the tables.

If that does not solve your problem please post the SQL of your query so we can further help you.

This is probably very simple, but I just can't see my way thru it..... Short version: keyed values(numeric)in a lookup table are stored in a main table. They are displayed as text values - the keyed values description. I need a parameter query to return a range of these values. The parameter input won't accept the 'text' version. You...

I previously posted about a problem where it seemed that changing the case of the word "BY" in a SELECT query was causing it to run much much faster. Now I've hit the same thing again, where basically almost any change I make to how the query is executed (so that it still performs the same function) causes the performance to jump from a...
