No, that was A2007 SP1.
It's no conspiracy theory to think that many people wait until the
first service pack before they adopt a new version. The same is
happening with Vista.

I haven't heard much good news about A2003's SP3. It seemed to make a
stable product less stable. I was making a slight joke. If one makes a
product a turkey, some may decide to kick the tires on the new model.

Yep, SP3 is a turkey. I've had to ask all my customers not to install it,
and those who have installed it to uninstall it (which is not as simple as
it sounds...)

When 2003 Architect tries to run the update feature, an error message displays stating that "Visual Studio .NET 2003 setup encountered errors while attempting to download required files. Check your Web browser configuration settings and your connection hardware, and then try again." I just lost some user controls for no reason using VB.Net 2003. I had added the controls thru the Design IDE and all was working ok but for some reason, they just disappeared. The form module ("Windows Designer code") showed them still there but all properties that I had set were gone. My solution was to re-add the controls in the designer then copy the design code to a sub and add them programatically in the form load event. I believe...

We are running an Access 2000 MDB with a SQL 7 back end. Our network guy is upgrading to Windows Server 2003 and wants to upgrade Office and SQL Server at the same time. We're moving to SQL Server 2005, and, since he already has licenses for Office Pro 2002, he wants to upgrade to that. I've been saying that we need to upgrade to Access 2003, not 2002, even if Office is kept at 2002. We are also looking to do a fair amount of...

SQL Server will be used as the back-end database to a non trivial client application. In question is the choice of client application: I need to be able to speak intelligently about when one client (MS Access vs ..NET Windows Forms) would be preferred over the other. While I have some good arguments on both sides, I would appreciate your points of view on the topic.

Hello, I wrote a database applicaiton using Access XP (2002) and everything has been working good for the client until they purchased a couple of new computers with Access 2003. The meetings form has an unbound combo box listing all the meetings in the database allowing the user to navigate between meeting records. The meetings form also has a list box that displays a list of members associated with a meeting.

Hello Everyone, I'm having some very weird behavior on a couple of Access forms. (Not all forms, just some of them). The forms have been working for years, under Access XP/2003 etc, and last week upgraded from Windows XP/Office 2003 to Vista x64/Office 2007. Under Access 2007, a couple of forms are now taking 60 seconds to

Converted an A2003 system to A2007, on testing founf out that right- click to bring up a shortcut menu on a combo box didn't work if the combo box was in a subform. Found out that this was a known bug and applied the relevant hotfix. Voila! However, I have now tested the system on a machine with only A2007 runtime installed, and the problem still exists. Why did Microsoft not fix the problem in the runtime exe as well, or am I missing...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
