I need a little guidance here. I have set up a table for job estimates with
a large number of data fields. On the estimate form is a command button to
convert the estimate to a scheduled job. When the user clicks the button I
would like to copy certain fields and paste them to corresponding fields in
a projects table. Could someone point me in the right direction on where to
start this process? 2 2661

That's done with an Append query.
But before you do that, consider carefully if your 2-table setup is a
good idea. The alternative is one table, with an additional Status
field that can be set to either Estimate or Job (or any number of
statuses). This is often much more convenient.

Tom is probably right, but the moment I see "a large number of data fields"
I suspect you are trying to create an Excel type sheet in Access. I would
guess that you should be looking at a main form for the estimate (Names,
Address etc) and a continuous subform showing details and price. So 2
tables, one for the names and address and Tom's Status flag and the other
table with a foreign key pointing to the customer and detail & price.

Let's say, I have Table1 and Table2, both with the exactly same
structure and data in it, except that Table1.Field1 is empty in data
but Table2.Field1 have data in it.
How could I copy all the data from Table2.Field1 to Table1.Field1?
Is there any simpler way except looping through all the records to do
it?

Hi,
I've been reading tons of posts on how to copy records, but to no
avail....i'm still stuck.
There are three tables: Main, Sub-Form1 & Sub-Form2
I have a form which displays some data.
The PK (ProductID) for each record on the form is an AUTONUMBER.
This form also has a sub-form, linked via ProductID. The subform also

Hello All,
I¡¯m using a context menu associated with some pictureboxes to provide
copy/paste functionality. Copying the image to the clipboard was easy. But
pasting an image from the clipboard is proving to be more difficult. These
pictureboxes are bound to an AccessDB. If the user wants to add an image,
they select an image using an OpenFileDialog:

If (result = DialogResult.OK) Then

Hello,
How to make sure COPY TO writes the table lines to the file in the same order
they were inserted?
I'm producing html pages in pl/pgsql and using COPY TO to write then to file.
Occasionaly, about once in 7 or 9, the lines are copied to the file out of the
order they were inserted in the table.
The lines have one only column of the type text.

I'm trying to copy all 440 million rows from one table in my SQL Server
2005 db to another table with a different clustering scheme. After a
few test inserts that were successful (up to a million rows in 20
seconds with no problem), I crossed my fingers and went whole-hog with
the naive "insert into dest_table (column1, column2, ...) select
column1, column2, ... from source_table" but of course it ran out of
space in *both* the db log file...

Hi,
I have an MS Access app which lets me create a new product by copying
data from another selected product.
All works fine, except one of the copy updates which I cannot fathom.
The code creates a new product and copies over the parent data from the
other product first.
Then related data from other tables is copied accross using the new
Product_ID. ok

form. However, there are related child tables with primary keys (set
to Autonumber) stored in sub-forms. That information...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
