Restoring Backup Of a LAN shared Database

hi!
I am using Ms Access 2003 on Xp and i have shared a database on the server through LAN. There is 1 Administrator account, 5 data entry users and 4 read only users. I think I have messed up with the account settings and now whenever i open it with the Admin account it shows me That you do not have permission to open this database and contact the Administrator. I searched on the Internet for the solution but nothing helped me out.
I make daily backup of my database i have the backup files. These backup files also show me the same error. Now if I copy the backup file from the server to some other PC, how can I make this database as a standalone. I mean I want to change its Workgroup Settings back to the Normal Single User State as it do have in the beginning. I SHALL then run the Account Settings Wizard again on it and shall make the accounts in it again. Thats the only solution left in my mind but cant open the backup file too.
I am humbly requesting for the help.

Note: Access alway uses security. The default work group is the system.mdw file with the default login user as admin without a password. Since admin user does not have a password, there is not prompt for the user name or password. It then appears to have not security, but it really always does.

Dos this mean that sharing the database is having multiple users open the same file at he same time. You are only asking for issues and data corruption if you are. You should NEVER share a database by having multiple users open the same file. You need to have you database split into a front end a back end. Each use should have their own copy of the front end that is NOT shared. I hope that this is hope you are sharing your database.

When you turned on security, hopefully you create a NEW MDW file that holds the users and permissions and did not use the default system.mdw file that comes with access. You need to be sure you are using the MDW file when you open your database.

NOTE: To back up your database, you need to not only backup the MDB files but also the work group MDW file or yon are not getting everything!

Do you have the MDW file that was created when you ran the security wizard?

Are you sing a shortcut to start the database with a command line that specifies the work group file? If not, you probably should?

Or did you join you new work group with work group manager so that all database will use the same work group? I find in better not not do this and use a shortcut

If you did not create a new MDW that you are suing to open the database, then I would try the system MDW file on the machine where you turned on the security to the database and added the users.
