Capture Picture

3 New Member
I have in place a Security Gate Access application that is up and running. What I would like to add is a camera feature. The way it would work is as follows:

Assumed: Camera is already running and pointed at entrance to gate where visitors stop. Whatever the camera sees is in a window somewhere on the screen.

Upon guest arrival: 1) Guest announces themselves.
2) We verify they are already on the expected guest list
3) As they were announced we know where to send them.
4) We click the button to document their arrival with date and time.
5) As a function of pushing the button above, we automatically capture whatever image is currently on the camera window.
6) This gives us full documentation of access to campus.

Everything is currently working except for the image capture part. I don't care if the image is in the database (probably not tooooooo smart), or if I simply have the TIFF or JPG filename in the DB. Because of volume, I obviously can not enter this info manually.

Not asking for someone to code it for me, just get me in the right direction.

Thank you.

Bob

Hi Bob

Its difficult to know what direction to point you in. Other than to say that the image should be stored in the database as a link in an OLE Object field.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
