Open an Excel-file from Access 2003

Hi,

I have a program in Access 2003 and written in Visual Basic. At some
point I would like to open an
Excel file automatly from Access 2003. So that the user can do some
changes in this file and then
close it. I don't want any connection with the program, only that it
open the file on its own.

If you have an idea of how I can do that It would be great.

Thank you,

Laura

Hi Laura. Here's a good example of some code that opens up Excel from
Access. You can cater it to what you need, add a button and assign
this macro to it.

Good luck!

I have a DLL that opens an Excel workbook and add-in. If I close the app that calls the DLL before closing Excel, when I close Excel everything is fine. But if I close Excel while the app is still open, an instance of Excel remains in the background. Then even if I close the app, it remains there. What am I suppose to do, in my DLL, to completely release Excel. If I use oExcel.Quit() then I shut down Excel... TIA

Hi, I have an aspx page which generates an excel document and transfers it to the browser as attachment. When I click save I can save the excel document or when I click open it directly opens in excel. This works fine for all but one machine. On one machine however the dialog prompts to open or save the excel document (e.g....

I then want to delete a spreadsheet, but a reference remains open and excel stays in task manager when the code highlighted below is used. can someone help me identify what object remains open and how to release that reference? thanks using Excel = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel;

Is there a way to open up any version of Excel without having to explicitly add a reference? I know how to open up Excel 12 since its installed on my machine. I just have to add a reference to the Office and Excel COM dll. What I'm looking to do is open up any version of Excel. Anyone have any ideas on how to go about doing that? -StinkyDuck

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
