Append Query and Unmatched Query Issue

36 New Member
In 1 Database(ttt) I currently have a Union Query that collects data from 4 databases (a,b,c,d) and then a MakeTable query that combines all of those into a table. ( Union A,B,C,D to make table in TTT)

How would I go forth to only Append New data that comes from the UNION of A,B,C,D to the Table in TTT ?

Should I use an Unmatched Query with criteria and then run the Append Query off of the Unmatched Query?

I run into a problem since... Some fields might contain the same info , However the record as a whole is not the same. ( ex. Same First Name - Different Last name)

Any Advice would be appreciated.

Is there a tell tale way to determine new record? Date perhaps?
If so change the make table query into an append query from design view and add the criteria in there.

I simply changed the UNION query to only display the latest data...
And ran the Append Query on that.

Created a simple macro and scheduled a windows task to run the append every morning.

I want to extract some records that are common to three tables, but not contained in the fourth. Following what I have see in the archives and also trying the unmatched records query wizard, if I only use one of those three tables and use a LEFT JOIN to the fourth and set the target field in the fourth table to null, I get the unmatched records. However, if I link the three tables together and then want to exclude records in the fourth...

I have an Access db with several ODBC linked ORACLE tables. These tables have multiple-field PK's. The tables work just fine in many diff types of queries including unmatched queries that are created manually without using the UMQ Wizard. The problem/question, however, involves using these tables in an UMQ Wizard. At the point in the wizard where it asks for "What piece of information is in both tables?" and it lists the fields from the 2...

As part of a macro, I'm trying to automate appending a table with new records. let's say the table 2 has some new records in it, but also has a lot of identical records to table 1. I would like to append table 1 with all of the new records, and do it unattended in a macro. Is there a way to specify in the append query to only append the

I have a table of "memos". each record in that table has a primary key "memo ID" that is autonumber. I have another table that is "memo receipts" with each record having a "receipt id" field that is not a primary key. When a user reads a memo, I create a receipt record that shows that they have read and acknowledged the memo. "receipt id" is set equal to "memo id". I have this part working fine. Next what I want is when a user checks...

To all: Hi! I am trying to use an append queries on a table where the key field is numeric, formatted as 00-00-000. The query collects the information corectly, and there are no records duplicated, but I get a key violation each time I try to run the query. Any ideas? More details: The query collects, concatenates, and turns the key field to be appended into a value. I have tried formatting the query's field as 00-00-000, as well...

Remember seeing a post a while back from someone who wanted to add to a table only if the data didn't already exist. Someone suggested a type of query called an "Up" something or other. Can't remember - could someone refresh my memory on this please? Thanks

Hello, I have a table that I am appending 3 seperate tables into. My main problem is that each time I append the data, it simply adds to the data already there. That might sound ok, except that if I append the data 3 times in succession, it copies the same data over 3x. Now I have copies in triplicate. It used to only transfer records that weren't already there, but not anymore. If I can't get the append to append correctly, I was...

Hello, I am using Access 2003. I am having trouble trapping the "can't append all the records in the append query" error message when appending data to a query from a table which is linked to an excel spreadsheet. There are two tables. One is a list of general contacts, and the other is a list of clubs. The clubs contain members who are within the contacts table. When I add a list of new club members from the

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
