Hi,
I'm sure this is a common problem.. to create a single field from a
whole column, where each row would be separated by a comma.
I can do this for a specified table, and column.. and I've created a
function using VBA to achieve a more dynamic (and very slow) solution..
so I would like to implement it using a user defined function in sql server.
The problems I'm facing are, that I can't use dynamic sql in a

Hi,
I'm trying to make a calculated text field in a query where the textvalue is
being populated from multiple records.
I already use a VBA function to loop through records and concatenate the
text. It works but the performance is really bad. I'm looking for a solution
in plane SQL, so the looping is done by joining tables. I can't get it to
work....

I want to populating an asp list box from a simple access lookup list
(single column not a table.)I don't want to create tables just for
lookups as the values will be descriptive only and will never change.
What would be the command to rerieve these single column lookups in
ASP script?
Or do I have to create access tables just to hold these static lookup
values?

I am populating a multiselect Listbox from a dataset, with the content of
the listbox filled by one table, and the selections determined from another
table. So far, I have been keeping the dataset a denormalized mirror of the
database, but I'm not having much luck getting the selection logic down (I
haven't found a 'hook' where I can access the listbox object as an object to
set the listitem's selected property before it gets rendered)..

Hello,
I am creating a form for users to enter information about a lab and the
members of the lab. I have one form (FormView) that they use to enter
information about that lab. The keyvalue is "LabLocation_ID". With an
existing lab, they then need to add the members for that lab. So, what I am
trying to do is the following. With the FormView of the Lab open, the user
will click a button to open a FormView (InsertMode) and add a new...

Hi all,
I have a MS SQLServer database which has two tables, 'images' and
'photographers'. The photographer table contains a field for
PhotographerID and a one for PhotographerName. The image table also
contains a field for photographerID which is used to join the two
tables.
I'm having problems with populating a dropDownList using the complete
set of photographerNames and IDs from the 'photographer' table but

Help
I built a form/subform/subsubform setup using the access forms
wizard. I have a table1 = parent, table2 = child, table3 =
(grandchild?). There will be multiple records in table2 that tie to
table1, and multiple records in table 3 that tie to table2. Both on
"1 to many" joins.
Each of the forms are bound to the fields in the respective tables.
The subform & subsubform are datasheet view. When I enter any data, I

A Form has 2 select lists. The 1st one whose size is 5 (meaning 5
options are shown at any given time) allows multiple selection whereas
the 2nd one allows only 1 option to be selected at a time.
When an option is selected in the 2nd select list, the ASP page posts
itself. Assume that the 1st select list has the following 10 options
(note that both the select lists are actually populated from 2
different database tables):

I have 3 tables of information feeding into 4 combo boxes on my main
form (DR Form). I have as many list boxes (acting as text boxes) as
there are fields in each one of the 3 tables. Once selecting from the
combo box, I have all the combo boxes, using afterupdate, populating
their respective list boxes. These text boxes are directly correlated
to the combo box selection using SQL. Here is an example from the
afterupdate event in the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
