reformat of 17 tables from integer to single

We are redoing an existing database and need to reformat
all the number fields from integer to single fixed 3.
their main thing is negative numbers and the decimal places.

Can this be done in code?

field size long -->single
format fixed
decimal places 3

Since we are going from integer to single format this should
not mess with any existing values should it ?
I can see where single to integer would but not to a larger format.
it didn't when I tried it manually.

Dreamweaver 4 Hi Can anyone recommend a decent utility for compressing HTML that is safe - i.e. that *definitely* doesn't mess with the appearance in any browsers. I run a growing website whose pages are inexorably getting too "heavy".

I have written a trigger that's supposed to go out and delete corresponding records from multiple tables once I delete a specific record from a table called tblAdmissions. This does not work and I'm not sure why... Here's the code that's supposed to run, let's say, if a user (via a VB 6.0 interface) decides to delete a record. If the record in the tblAdmissions table has the primary key (AdmissionID) of "123", then the code below is...

Does anyone know how to use VBA to relink tables between two MS Access databases? We have two databases, one with VBA code and the other with data tables. The tables are referenced by linked tables in the database where the code resides. If we move the database with the data tables to a new directory, the links are no longer valid. I tried to update the links by changing the Connect property and refreshing: Set td = db.TableDefs(0)...

I have an Access 2000 front-end pointing at a SQL Server backend, with around 80 linked tables and views. I frequently need to point the front-end at different versions of the back-end, and achieve this by relinking the tables and views to use a different DSN. I use the Linked Table Manager > Select All > and tick the 'always prompt for a new location' box, then click OK. It correctly pops up the 'select data source' box, from which I...

I've got my code working so that it'll count the number of columns in the table and move across (eg Range A-P and then range Q-W). Problem is when I get to the end of the single letters and get into AA etc. Have got an idea of how I could do it by using Chr() and having an ongoing counter which is divided by 26 when it goes past Z to work out location. However, I'd dearly like there to be an easier way. Any ideas? Another problem I'm...

Hi, I can't understand why mysql allows me to grant lock tables to all tables in a particular database, while it fails to accept the same command applied to a single table only. I've tested on MySQL versions 4.1.20 and 5.0.33 (both running CentOS 4.4 linux on Intel-32) with exact same results. Whats wrong with grant lock tables on a single table?

Hi guys, Does anyone know of a way to create multiple tables using information stored in one table? I have a table with 4 columns (TableName, ColumnName, DataType, DataSize) and wanted to know if there is a way to use the information in this table to create the many tables that are listed in the source table instead of creating each table individually? Many thanks for any help you can offer.

My firm has just been through a rebranding and are using word 2003 for most of our docs. Amongst other things, most of our word docs have Tables in them (we used them to make the headings stand out). There are 2 types of tables - ones with a fill colour of blue (RGB 0,180,228) and ones with a grey fill. I need to write a macro to reformat a document. I am 90% of the way there but I cannot seem to write anything to replace the blue filled...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
