Data Acces Page - textbox displays from dropdown selection

3 New Member
Please help!
I'm new to TheScripts ...
I've been stuck on this problem for days and I've lost my mind because of it!

I have created a Data Access Page, using Access 2003, named "pg_3_resource_f orecast".
When an item is selected in the dropdown list, I want the textbox to display the result. As of now, it does display the results, but it displays numerous copies of the same result.

Example:

Dropdown Selection = Auditor1
Textbox results = Audit1, Audit1, Audit1, Audit1, Audit2, Audit2, Audit2, Audit2, Audit2, etc ....

The results should only have one of Audit1 and Audit2, etc.

I tried to attach the the database in zip form, but the file was too large.
I could send it to you individually.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

I haven't done Data Access Pages, but it sounds as if you are getting a non-key field, and so you get the value for each record in the table.

Try editing the source for that field and add the word "distinct" as a criteria.

Thanks Michelle, How could I achieve the second one.I do not like Flashing windows in response to selection of an item. I agree the data transfer is very little but the same data transferred for more than once takes multiple of the initial load time. I used to use <%....%> in asp to achieve the forbidden method( :) just kidding) of client side scripting. The Script tags were used to create a data array with Database data relevent to the...

I understand how to use a dropdown list control to display the associated description value for a foreign key in a parent rather than the key itself, but I don't like having to disable the control when I want to prevent editing (simply displaying in the display template of a datalist or detailview control, for example). I've not been able to find a way to edit the disabled color of the dropdown list, so it appears very washed out - just...

I have a WebForm where I'm dynamically creating some controls and I'm having difficulty understanding how the state is being persisted and how to work with it. I've created a simplified example to demonstrate my issues. Lets say I have a WebForm with a DropDownList where the user selects a number from 1 to 10 (the DropDownList is not dynamically created). I also have a button on there that I use to trigger a PostBack. Based on the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
