Hi,
I'm using Access 2003 and I would like to be able to prompt the user to close Access altogether from a vbyesnocancel button, but the only way I'm aware of is to use the close macro.
Is there a way to run this macro using VBA? If not, is there a way to close the entire database with VBA, depending on the user's input?
It probably won't help anything, but here's a snippet of where I'm at:
[code]
Public Sub cmdCancel_Click ()
Dim CanVal As Integer
DoCmd.Close acForm, Me.Name
CanVal = MsgBox("Would you like to begin the assessment over?", vbQuestion + vbYesNoCancel)
If CanVal = vbYes Then
DoCmd.OpenForm "Switchboar d"
ElseIf CanVal = vbNo Then
End Sub
Any help, as always, will be greatly appreciated.

Wow...I feel dumb. I have a book written by Microsoft Press and it doesn't make much mention, if any at all, about using code to initiate macros.
Thanks again for your help.
About the only thing Micro$oft Press does is make Brother Bill richer! Almost any other reference text is going to be better than anything from them! To be fair, though, few books make a lot of reference to macros, because with two exceptions (macros named Autoexec and AutoKeys) very few developers use them. Also, VBA and Access is so incredibly complex that few texts cover everything!

Here's a proposed Q&A for the FAQ based on a couple recent

X.Y: Why doesn't Python have macros like in Lisp or Scheme?
Before answering that, a clarification on what 'macro' means.
A Lisp macro is a way of modifying code when that code is first
defined. It can rearrange the structure of the code, and add and
remove parts of it. Unlike C's #define macro language, Lisp
macros understand the...

I think everyone who used Python will agree that its syntax is
the best thing going for it. It is very readable and easy

be possible to add a powerful macro system to Python, while
keeping its amazing syntax, and if it could be possible to
add Pythonistic syntax to Lisp or Scheme, while keeping all

Using a macro, can I change what type an object is being cast to?
I know, the initial respone to question might be an instinctive "ugly, don't
even think about it!" or "don't use macros at all", but I still would like
to know because I am trying to encapsulate a third-party C-based
callback-oriented gui toolkit inside C++ classes and I would like to try
something.
So say you have:
long some_address = some_valid_address;

This database has no forms. I am viewing an Access table in datasheet

So, the questions are: 1) In the macro, how to I get my hands on the
record key or record data of the record the cursor was on in the

I am able to create the report from the database but I am not sure how

Consider this macro
// check if x, assumed of type unsigned char, is in range
#define ISVALID(x) ((x)>=0x20 && (x)<=0x7E)
Of course, this can't be safely used as in
if (ISVALID(*p++)) foo();
where p is a pointer ot unsigned char.

Although some users find Macros simple and easy to use, there are some major limitations to using them. Although you can use macros to perform tasks, there is limited control on when and how those tasks should be performed, and setting conditions can be difficult. There is however, another even stronger reason not to use macros and that is that when errors are thrown during a macro's execution it is difficult to trap the error and therefore...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
