Filter Query Button

Hello:

I have a form (frmMain) that I have included a subform (frmSubForm)
on. What I need on the MAIN form are command buttons that will filter
the information on the SUBFORM. It is very similar to the
fromPhoneList and all I have added or changed is making the
fromPhoneList a subform on my main. The problem is that it is not
working. Please help in anyway.

it is not working.

that tells us...well, nothing. what is the RecordSource of the subform? what
code is running from the command buttons on the main form? what result do
you get when you run the code, and what result did you expect to get?

Hi everyone! I was wondering if there is a away to use Access 97's build in filter-by-form function but restrict its effect to just the subform. I have a parent form that shows the major divisions of the company, and a subform that is linked so that it displays all the jobs within the division in the parent form. I also want the ability to filter the subform, so the users can pick out a bunch of common jobs easily. I did this using a...

Hi all, With the recent postal strikes here in the UK i'm trying to persuade access to email reports at the touch of a button. I've not been able to figure out how to filter the report - when i print a report via a button i have it filtering to just the customer and invoice on the form on screen, but when i email, it uses the customer details on screen for the email address but produces a separate HTML file for EVERY customer on the...

I am just trying to print/report the results of a "filter by selection" which is done by right-clicking a form, filling in values, and "applying the filter." I have searched the newsgroups, and there are many examples. BUT, they fail sometimes. The techique is to pass the form's Me.filter as the "where condition" in a Docmd.openreport statement in code behind a "print button" on the form.

In access 2000 I need to filter records in a Subform by pushing a button on a command button located on the Main form. The Main form is blank. Its only purpose is to contain the subform which is in a datasheet format. So far… 1)I have created a query called "CatFilterQuery" which results in a prompt to enter the "category field" to filter on. 2)Created a macro called "FilterCategory" which is based on the query mentioned above and uses...

Some time ago with a lot of help from this group I made a reasonably successful database to keep track of our shop drawings. However the searching mechanism is too complicated for the occasional user and I would like to change the whole process. I would like to duplicate the layout of my form... but each field becomes a simple "searching" ListBox. On completing any one search field all the rest are filtered to this value. Subsequent...

Hi, I have a report that works just fine. Now I would like to add the capability to choose selection criteria to limit what is displayed. I created several reports that do this, but they used VBA to create SQL statements, then apply them. Now that I have been using Access/VBA for awhile, I am wondering if there is a simpler way to do this than coding these long sql statements. My report has a query as its record source. Can I just...

I have been creating a contact management database which now has about 300 records in it. I've been filtering using the "filter by form" command but I'd like to automate this with a set of buttons at the top of the form. The buttons would look something like this: ABC DEF GHI JKL MNO PQRS TUV WXYZ Each button would filter the records by Last Name. Being a newbie to Access, I don't know exactly how to do this. I'm

I need to create a few reports using one query and I wish to do the program filter from the buttons in a form. I had created a query named q_ClientsHvServices and a report based on that query named Rpt_ClientsHvService. In the main form, I created few buttons to view clients from different progrom. When I click on a button named "HACC", the report should select all the clients that have services under PROGRAM starting with HA (and all HA*). When...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
