I have a problem in that users can't seem to access menu bars created by
a developer in the admins group. Details are as follows:
I'm following the MS Access Secirty FAQ version 2.41 and I can't seem to
find an answer to the following problem in an A97 FE on a Oracle
database (Pretty sure Oracle has nothing to do with this, but thought
I'd mention it).
My users are members of one of three groups (plus there is the admins
group of...

Hi,
I am mildly familiar with ms access developement and I have been asked to
port and document a ms access app. I expect the porting (97 to XP) to be
fairly straightforward. However documenting it is another matter. How do you
people document your access apps?
Just create an ERD and have comments in the vba code? List all the forms and
it's purpose ?
Are there any methodologies / best practices / examples I can look at?
thanks in...

I have created some password routines to protect certain forms from access
without a password.
This allows me to create some security for apps that will be used on diff
machines for users that will not have to learn the whole access security
process and me as well.
I would like to lockup my database by unchecking all of the options in the
tools/startup from. I know i can create custom menus, toolbars and command
bars and add a link to...

Hello,
Have customized the menu options in Access 2000 in a computer. However,
it seems that the customizations apply only when I'm logged in and not
to other users. Is there any way to use the customizations as a default
for all users of Access on that computer.
Thanks

Hello,
Is it possible to step through the "Create MDE" process and see what is
causing Access to crash?
I tried, unsuccessfully, many times to create an MDE from my database.
But, randomly, I checked the "Allow Full Menus" in the Startup section.
I was then able to create an MDE.
That worked once. It has not worked since and I don't particularly

I have built an MS Access Application under MS Office XP (but I also
own MS Office 2000). I have split the application in the pure database
tables and all the queries, forms, reports and macro's.
Now i want to use this application for different foundations in the
Netherlands but I want to secure my application so no one can change
it, copy it or steal it from me. I always thought there was a kind of
conversion tool that would translate...

I have a custom message form that I want to display when the user shuts down
my app. Some clean up needs to be done during shutdown and I want to display
this form and then display various messages in the label on the form as the
shutdown cleanup proceeds.
I have a hidden Startup form. So in the Startup form OnClose event, I am
loading the message form and then changing the label caption as the code
proceeds to do the cleanup of...

I know that it is possible to force Access 2007 to the display custom
menu bars for an Access database developed in an earlier version by
using the customisation settings in A2007 to nominate a custom menu
bar to display on startup.
However is it possible to achieve this from within the earlier
version, perhaps by using code, so that one doesn't have to use A2007
to set the custom menu bar?
It seems that even if an application written...

MS Access2000
Hi everyone,
I've searched the forums for an answer to this question and nothing jumps out at me.
When a database is opened I want to automatically run code (at start-up) that compares the path of the opened database to a specific path (where the original database is located). This is for security reasons - I need to know if the original database has been copied without authorisation. Due to network issues I cannot use...

ONU (Optical Network Unit) is one of the key components for providing high-speed Internet services. Its primary function is to act as an endpoint device located at the user's premises. Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
