I have a very puzzling situation with a database. It's an Access 2000 mdb
with a SQL 7 back end, with forms bound using ODBC linked tables. At our
remote location (accessed via a T1 line) the time it took to go to a record
was very slow. The go to mechanism was a box that the user typed the index
value into a combo box, with very simple code attached:

FYI:
This message is for the benefit of MS Access Community. I found that
this prblem has been encounterd by many but there is hardly any place
where a complete solution is posted. So I thought I should give back
to the community by posting our findings.

Based on a prior posting, I've written a function to convert a
recordset to a dataview. The first call to the function for a given
recordset works perfectly, but the second call always returns a
dataview with a count = 0. Can someone explain why and how I might
work around this problem?

Hello,
I have built a serch form for users to edit records. I only want them
to pull up the record they need, and I want to check for nulls. There
should not be dupes becasue the underlying tables are indexed. So the
user will pull up either one record or none. Here is my problem:
I pass the form name through a tmpvariable and ther other search
parameters through unbound fields on an unbound form--this works fine
unless the form opens...

I live in a condo community of about 500 people. We are electing a Board
of Directors. There are 8 candidates for 4 openings. I am attempting to
automate the vote counting process. I have a simple table with 8 rows and 3
columns. Each row has a key field, the candidate's name, and a count field.
