Hi all,
I'm trying to connect to an MS Access database using ADO.NET and C#, but I'm
getting the dreaded "Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file 'x'.
It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to
view its data."
Any ideas as to why? I set up a connection using Jet 4.0 and I'm able to
open the database from within VC#.

Hi,
I am using VS.NET Arch. and I am having problems
connecting to ANY database. I am trying to a either a
SqlConnection or OleDBConnection object to my project.
When I try to define the connection string, it never
succeeds. I try every different naming convention for my
machine that I can in the server name field.

Hey,
I'm trying to use the connect to database wizard to connect to a MySQL
database on my web server, 66.235.193.45 (I'm actually not sure if that
points specifically to my part of the server, if not, the domain that
goes right to is is www.freddyswebgraphics.com, which I have tried as
well), and everytime I try to test the connection I get this error
message.
Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider....

XPPro computer I am trying connect to a Jet database on the server. If the data source is on the local computer I can
connect ok. If it is is on the server I cannot connect and get the following error.
