Im trying to output some filtered xml using the xmlTextReader I know
the code and commenting needs cleaned up and eventually plan to add the
values to a dataset. currently what this is doing is matching the
filters, runs into the response.write and outputs nothing. I've used
the dbgclr to verify that the filters are matching and it is hitting
the response.write
what I want it to do is match the filters (an array) and output the
value of...

Hi,
I have a form based on a table. When I filter the form I want to run a
report based on the same table with the same filter as the form. No problem
until I want to filter a combo box where the text value is on a different
table. The me.filter is then a text instead of the id-number from the lookup
table. This causes the report to prompt for the parameter.
How do I get by this problem? Do I need to create a temporary table? I
rather...

I have a form with multiple unbound text boxes which serves as a
"search form". I can enter my search parameters in the various boxes
as needed and click okay. My records are then filtered to produce the
results I want in a separate form (filter by form). No problem, except
I want to save the sql to a query, not a form.
When I debug.print the various sql, I get something like this example:
(( LIKE "cam*"))
which obviously is not enough...

I have a form Form1 which when the Advanced Filter/Sort is used
creates a form(maybe) with a title 'Form1Filter1 : Filter'. When I
apply the filter to Form1 it is applied, but the value of Form1.Filter
is ''.
How do I obtain the Advanced Filter/Sort criteria as a string ?
I cannot reference the object 'Form1Filter1 : Filter' by using
Form1Filter1.

This is directly from Access' Help:
"About designing a query
When you open a query in Design view, or open a form, report, or datasheet and
show the Advanced Filter/Sort window (Advanced Filter/Sort window: A window in
which you can create a filter from scratch. You enter criteria expressions in
the filter design grid to restrict the records in the open form or datasheet to
a subset of records that meet the criteria.), you see the design...

I already have a report designed under Reports. When I use filtering in Forms
or Tables, I see no way to select that filtered list when I am in Reports, and
there appears to be no way to do the filtering when I am in Reports.
I have received two replies to this message, posted a few days ago within
another Subject. One requires making programming type statements. That should
not be necessary -- Access must have a quick way to just click...

Hi,
In our Project we use Dataset to load the Grid with Values.
We have some criteria to filter the values to be shown in the Grid.
For that we used the SELECT command to filter the Same Dataset.
The SELECT Command we are using is as follows
DS.Tables(0).Select("FieldName = '" & input value & "')

I am running Access 2007. I have a report that I want to filter. I
can go into Advanced...Advanced Filter/Sort... and setup a filter that
works fine on the report when I apply it. When in this query creation
area, I can right click and Save Query. I have saved a query fine.
However, now if I go back later (after closing Access or the report)
when I open it it back up (the report), I go back to
Advanced...Advanced Filter/Sort.. right click...

I have been creating a contact management database which now has about
300 records in it. I've been filtering using the "filter by form"
command but I'd like to automate this with a set of buttons at the top
of the form. The buttons would look something like this:
ABC DEF GHI JKL MNO PQRS TUV WXYZ
Each button would filter the records by Last Name.
Being a newbie to Access, I don't know exactly how to do this. I'm

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
