Using VB6 (for two weeks!)
I could get a ListBox search working perfectly but with a ListView it has
completely stumped me. I've not found any previous posts that have helped :(
The user enters a string into a text box (txtStreet) and as they type any
matching entry in the listview (lsvStreets) is highlighted and made visible.
The search highlights the first item starting with the text in txtStreet.
The listview contains 6,000 rows...

Hopefully someone can help me on this.
I am using C#, making Windows forms.
I have created a listView with checkbox's. I have enabled the checkboxes
under the properties, and all the data, checkbox's and icons are displayed
as they are meant to be. My problem is this, I am trying to achieve the same
results as I get with CheckListBox(s), where I am able to select
(Check-mark) various checkboxs items and able to alter the data. I do...

I have a text box select items in a listview as text is being typed
into the text box. I get the select bar to move correctly in the
Listview control.
If the user presses the down or up key in the text box, I want to move
to the selected item in the listview box.
The down or up arrow does set focus to the listview box and the
selected item switches from the grey of being unfocused to the blue of
focus. So far, so good.

Ok I'm having a problem with a listview. I have a listview on a WinForm
called ProgramInformationFrm. I call this from from 2 other forms. One is
ProgramSearch Frm, the other is OpenNCFrm. The search form accepts criteria
from a user ans searches a sql table for any nc program that matches the
criteria. The open form gives the user a list of programs that have not been
added to table yet. Ok, enough background. What is happening is if I use...

(VB'2003)
What's the correct way to remove multiple, selected items from a
ListView control (say, from a ContextMenu)?
I ask because I'm getting a very annoying ArgumentOutOfRangeException
because the ListView seems to be trying to "re-select" items that are no
longer there!
for example, giventhat I have 3 items in my list:
Select the first and remove it - no problem.

I have a form with a listview control and a textbox. When I change focus
from the listview to the textbox, the highlighted item on the listview loses
the highlight. That is not the behavior I need.
I am using VB2008 express. I see that the behavior of a similar program in
VB6 is the same.
When the controls are a listbox and a textbox, the highlighted item remains
highlighted when changing focus to the textbox. So I might guess that...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
