How to write a count querry in access

HI I am trying to write a count querry where we can count the ratings on a school report. IE How many students in a year level got A's, B's C's etc. I have a rating table and use combo boxes to enter ratings into a form.

Without your table/fields etc this is just indicative

SELECT StudendID, StudentName, Count(A_field) as NumOfA, Count(B_Field) as NumOfB
FROM TableName
GROUP BY StudendID, StudentName

This can be done with the Query designer using the Sigma (Total) button on the toolbar and usung the Total row that appears to define which fields should be what function/grouped.
