Microsoft SQL Server is still
No. 1. According to the 2007
Database and Data Access, Integration
and Reporting Study,
completed by BZ Research in
late June, 74.7 percent of enterprises
are using SQL Server.
The study showed that the
other top databases, in terms of
use, are Oracle (54.5 percent in
2007, up from 51.3 percent in
2006), Microsoft Access (54.4
percent, down from 56.1 percent),
MySQL (43.4 percent, up
from 38.5 percent), IBM DB2
(23.5 percent, up from 20.4 percent)
and PostgreSQL (11.2
percent, down from 11.6 percent).
All other databases had

Seems tb a reflection of most IT people's misunderstandin g of
what MS Acccess is. i.e. It's a front end development tool that
Microsoft unfortunately presents with database-oid
characteristics and which ships with the file DB JET.
