Hi all!
This has happened to two different databases to me in two days.
A query which has been working flawlessly for over 9 months suddenly won't
run because the "ISNULL" function is undefined.
Compact and Repair - no problems. JetComp utility - no problems.
Then I try to edit a module, and the VB editor won't let me make any

I have a client who is using Access 2002/2000 (the database itself is
written in 2000), and is considering migrating to Access 2003. Any
recommendations on whether Access 2003 is worth the migrate, or should he
stick with 2002?
Thanks!

We've had a very large A97 app running fine for the last seven years.
I've just converted to SQL Server backend, which is being tested, but
meanwhile the JET based version, running under terminal server, has
suddenly started running very slowly. The network engineer has thrown
up his hands and said "It's Access 97". I've checked out lots of
things including the Oplocks setting and other stuff from this NG, and
I think I've done everything...

Ok I have searched the MS website for info on this. I am totally
confused.
If I want to deploy an Access 2003 app and allow my users to run it
using Access 2003 Runtime, where do I get the Runtime?
I just purchased Office 2003 Professional. Is Access 2003 Runtime
included with that or not?
It APPEARS that the only way I can get Access 2003 Runtime is to

Hi
We have an access app (front-end+backend) running on the company network. I
am trying to setup replication for laptop users who go into field and need
the data synched between their laptops and the server upon return to the
office. I am planning it this;
Move all access tables to sql server and then link the tables to access
front-end mdb app (using odbc?). Copy the same setup (access front end + sql
backend) onto each laptop....

I've got a system that's been corrupting repeatedly recently and I'm
having trouble tracking down the cause. I've done as much reading as I
can so far, but am starting to get lost as most of the common
causes/solutions don't seem to apply.
Particulars:
Access 97 recently converted to 2003 (started life in 2.0). Corruption
did start after the 2003 upgrade, which is in prep for converting to
SQL Server.

I've converted my application from A2K format to A2003 format.
I tried to follow Allen Browne's protocol in getting my app into A2003
(although I was unable to find informtion on the conversion process). Lots
of decompiling and lots of compacting of the original application in A2000.
Then the app was opened in A2003 and compacted, decompiled and compacted.
Next I imported everything into a blank A2003 database. Then this db was...

I have a database that had been stable until 3 weeks ago. The Access
2003 database occasionally (a couple of times a week) gets corrupted
when the last user exits the application. At least, that's what I'm
assuming since they get no error while working.
If I make a copy of the database prior to the last user logging out,
that copied DB remains undamaged. If I attempt to log back the
original DB in once everyone is out, I get the dreaded...

Anyone else experiencing corruption problems using Access 2003 to
edit .adp files? I've been experiencing corruption problems with a
particular database. I've tried copying all the objects into a new
file, but it didn't help.
Here is an example of the problem, yesterday I added a new field to my
SQL table. To put it on the form I copied an existing text field and
converted that field from text to combo box. Quicker because I'm
using...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
