Can anyone please recommend a good way to import 10,000 text files into an access db? Each txt file is about 1 to 2 mb in size, and are never in the same format. I want to start off with using a macro using transfertext.. But I don't know how to automate such that it goes through the files chronologically . Can anyone please help ? :)

1-2 mb is large for a text file. This must have a lot of records. And with 10,000 of them you're going to break Access, it won't be able to handle it. that's 10-20 gigs, an Access database can only handle 4 gigs. You want to seriously think about upgrading to a larger database system like Oracle or SQL Server.
Even if you were to upgrade, on top of that they're not in the same format so it's impossible to automate if it doesn't know what it's importing. You also want to go through it chronologically but how are you determining the chronology?

They work. Relationships, however, and some minor default settings are
not preserved. Reestablishing some default settings and settings is a
small price to pay for a set of text files that may save your database
