Reading page breaks

2 New Member
I am trying to create a form that allows users to paste information (a full adress) from an other application (xml based ) into an access 97 text box - then use vba code to split the string into substrings and copy them to other text boxes using the (existing) page breaks that are in the text string but unfortunately i cannot work out how to refer to the breaks in code, they do show up as double square characters if I pass the text to a string but I cannot work out how to refer to these breaks any Ideas?

Try the search and replace using the ascii code....... Chr(12) is the ascii code for page break

As you say they are double square brackets, I assume that they are actually new line codes rather than page-break codes. A new line is actually (on PCs anyway) a Carriage Return / Line Feed sequence. In VBA this can most easily be referred to using the predefined value vbCRLF. Of course it may well be a Form Feed character, in which case a Chr(12) (or vbFormFeed) would match it for you.
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Decimal Hexadecimal VBA code    Description
  2.   10      &H0A      vbLF        Line Feed
  3.   13      &H0D      vbCR        Carriage Return
  4.                     vbCRLF      Carriage Return / Line Feed
  5.   12      &H0C      vbFormFeed  Form Feed

Consider the code: $arrText = file ("http://www.site.com/page.htm"); for ($i=0; $i<count($arrText); i++) { echo("$arrText\n"); } (I did not test the snippet for errors) The line breaks appear to be different from the original .htm file. Why?

We have a bunch of usercontrols we are using on our site. One of them calls functions in a compiled DLL (is that a 'resource' in VS.net terminology?) The pages that contains all of these controls work just fine. We've made a new page, error.aspx that we're going to use for our custom 404 page. If we load/navigate directly to this page, no problem. If we get to this page via IIS redirect (for page not found) the one control that depends on...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
