Refreshing a report from Switchboard

I am using Access 2007. I have created a simple switchboard that has
an item that runs a report that is based upon a query. This query
asks for a range of job numbers. When first going in to the
switchboard, it asks me for my range and everything is great.
However, if going back to run it again, it justs repeats my last
query. I know you could hit F5 to refresh but I'm trying to make this
simple for the user. Can anyone tell me what to change so that every
time I hit the button for the report, it asks me for my criteria each
time? TIA!

If Access 2007 is like the previous versions of Access in this
regards, you cannot just refresh the report.
You need to first close the report, then open it again.

If CurrentProject. AllReports("Rep ortName").IsLoa ded Then
DoCmd.Close acReport, "ReportName "
End If
DoCmd.OpenRepor t "ReportName ", acViewPreview

I am having a terrible time getting this to work. I am hoping someone out there can help me with very specific code examples. I am trying to get the linked tables in my Access 97 database to be updated whenever the database opens. I need to have them updated based on an INI file that resides in the same directory as the current database. I do not need or want the ability to open a dialog box to pick the location. I simply want it to...

Simple problem, but I've checked the newsgroups and couldn't find an answer. On the main swithboard is a command button to open a report. The report I built is based off a query, and the query is now restricted by the simple "Between And ". What I want to do is pass the values of the two parameters into some textboxes in the heading of the report (so if 12/1/03 and 12/31/03 are the parameters, I can display the entered dates in the...

I have a report for creating the switchboard labels for our phone system receptionist switchboard. The template has 12 records per column. I setup a report that will create the labels and put a dotted line around them so the receptionist can easily cut them out. The report is setup with columns so that 6 columns fit across a page. 12 records per column, 6 columns across a page, each record has a dotted line around the box. The...

I have reviewed the many postings on this topic and understand the principle, but am not sure where in my case to apply trapping an error. I have created a form to supply parameters to a report. I click on the command button to open the report, the form opens as it should and the parameters are entered. Upon clicking on "OK," the underlying query is executed. It is at this point, the the error message appears. The dialog box disappers as...

Tomorrow's my final presentation of my DB and I ran into an unexpected problem: I access a main form called frmViewAllResources with several tabbed subforms through my switchboard. There's a preview and print button on the main form that generates a report called "Commodities." It previews and prints all the relevant fields from the main form and subform just fine. On my switchboard, I can also access a form to print reports using a date...

Working in Access 2003, Windows XP Pro - (client not faithful to updates:(. I have succeeded in splitting a database. (I am actually working on a "test run copy" to insure that I am safe. My back-end contains my tables and my front-end forms etc have "linked" icons preceding them. Regarding the relinking code: 1. In my Access 2003 Inside-Out book it gives Startup Code to Verify and Correct Linked Table Connections (on p. 1206)....

I've created a database in Access 2003 with multiple reports that are accessable from the switchboard. The switchboard also has a print button. The user selects the report from the menu which then opens in another window for the user to preview. I am trying to enable the print button to print the open report however the print macro prints the switchboard instead. Can anyone provide me with the code needed to accomplish my goal? I have no...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
