I want to move my Access 2K database into MSDE. The Access Upsizing
Wizard crashes (a known bug wi A2K), so I'm using the following
suggested method:
Access --> New --> Project (Existing Database)
This asks for the name of the .adp file to create and then launches
into the Data Link Properties dialog box (so far so good) I select my
MSDE server from the drop-down, enter the sa account & passwd, attach
a database file and try to...

Does anyone know how to use VBA to relink tables between two MS Access
databases? We have two databases, one with VBA code and the other with
data tables. The tables are referenced by linked tables in the database
where the code resides. If we move the database with the data tables to
a new directory, the links are no longer valid.
I tried to update the links by changing the Connect property and refreshing:
Set td = db.TableDefs(0)...

I have inherited a bunch of dbs which are are shared among a small group in
my dept. We typically use the dbs to write queries to extract data, usually
dumping it into Excel. Most dbs originated in MsAccess 97 or prior and have
been converted to 2003. On occassion user 1 will open a db. When user 2
opens the db it will not let user 2 modify macros and what not. I can
understand this and realize we could split the db; it is not worth ...

I need to convert a 17mb access 2000 db to Oracle and house it in a
Citrix farm. The issue: we have never converted an Access Db to Oracle
but can probably use Oracle's Workbench to assist with this. Also - the
citrix folks do not want us to keep the FE in Access as the queries and
other activities consume a lot of power. The users will be in 3
different offices across the globe all accessing the 1 Oracle DB in
Citrix.
Does anyone have...

I've come up against a major headache that I can't seem to find a solution
for but I'm sure there must be a workaround and I would really be grateful
of any help.
I'm currently building a web site for a small club I belong to and one of
the features I would like to include is the ability to allow users to upload
image files.
unfortunately the servers web root www folder only allows READ and EXECUTE
permissions, which makes it...

The Reps team have been experiencing that Access 2002 unexpectedly
quits
while working and also lots of Corruption Failures and "Record lock
can not
update" messages since the upgrade from Windows 2000 and Access 200 to
Windows XP and Access 2002 (XP) was done.
Now, they are working and at anytime in anywhere of the application
access
unexpectedly quits with no error messages and the info that was being

Hi all,
While working on an Access UI to a MySQL database (which should be a
reasonable, low-cost, flexible interface to the DB, better than
web-based, much less costly than a full-fledged .NET app or so.... is
it?), I tried measuring the bandwith consumed by the
Access/MyODBC/MySQL link, which came out to be, er, quite high.
I fancied it would be interesting to look at the queries Access throws
at MySQL through the ODBC link, so I...

I am looking for VBA code that will work with Access 2003 to enable
dragging and dropping a file/folder name from Windows XP Explorer into
an Access form's text box. This is a common functionality that most
Windows programs have, so I'm suprised it's not easier to implement in
Access/VBA.
Through Google, I found two VB6 examples and one VBA example on the
Access Web written by Dev Ashish. The VB6 examples used loops to keep
checking...

I need to do some lookups and updates on some legacy Access 2.0 files
(they've from another vendor and I'm not in a position to update them).
I was successful using VB6, but I've moved on to VS 2005 and ADO and
having some serious problems.
Here's the scenario:
2 people have the same Access 2.0 databases running in the Access 2.0
application.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
