Hi,
I'm trying to come up with a way of generating 'warning' e-mails based on
specific criteria within an Access (2003) database. I've decided to do this
by exporting specific information to a text file which then gets parsed by a
simple shell program and processed by a 3rd party SMTP engine (Blat).
With my VERY limited knowledge of VB and Access coding, this is what I've
come up with so far:-

I am in process of converting Access 97 databases to Access 2003. Some
of the Access 97 databases export data to a text file with a non
standard file extension, such as "ext" or "NAL". When I try to
run the export in the converted Access 2003 database, I get the error
"Cannot update: Database or object is read-only."
It seems that the real problem is that I can only export a text file if
I use either "txt", "csv", "tab", or "asc" as...

I have an access adp (MS Access 2003) connecting to a SQL 200 server. From the adp a user generates reports and using the built-in access export wizard can export said reports (which are either tables or queries run against a table) as the save as options available in the wizard.
What I really want to achieve is remove certain save as options from the default access export wizard.
After some research I have realized that customizing...

We have a forms application that captures comments digitally entered
by an inspector and saved as an image in Sql Server. The manager of
this inspector wants to be able to transfer the data in Sql Server to
Access 2003 table. However, when I try to export the data into an
Access table and into an OLE field, the field displays the information
as "long binary data".
Is there a way to transfer the data so the field in the Access table...

Hi
I am trying to export an Access table to a fixed-width text file. The
table contains 2 memo fields of approx. 1000 characters each.
I am using the 'Export text wizard' to export. In this wizard I change
the default width (512) of the memo fields to the required larger
size but it still only exports as 512.
This has always worked fine for me in Access 2003 but it is truncating

OK, I've been watching my DB grow and have known for a long time I
would have to move the back end, but of course I waited until I
started getting odd behavior (at about 1.92GB). So today I installed
MySQL and (after a bit too much time getting the data source working)
started exporting tables. I successfully exported eight of my nine
tables, and can view them from a linked Access front end.
But when I tried to export the final table,...

I have some queries in Access 2003 db that I have setup to display as pivots. I can go into design pivot table view and click on and then click on Export to Office MicroSoft Excel. The problem is I have about 6 queries that produce 48 reports (based on parameters). I don't want to manually save each pivot query results.
The first macro I created to export the queries I used TransferSpreadsheet but the export results are regular xls...

Hi - I store documents of various types in an OLE type field in an Access table (am using Access 2003). I would like to write a query to export the data from this table (including the OLE file) into an Excel spreadsheet so I can then send via email to a third party (without access to my computer or data). When I write a query and export, the OLE field comes up empty, regardless of whether I link to the file or embed the file. Is there a way...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
