Could you be a little more specific. Welcome to access here I will give you a link where I feel many newbies should go to understand basic concepts of access http://www.mvps.org/access/resources/othersites.htm

Good luck, please a bit more specific on your questions thanks

It's good practice to validate input, not only where it should be coming from, but from anywhere it's possible to change or add input for a "client". If all user input is transfered using "post" you can be pretty tough on querystrings, if you use them at all. But user input could have a name like Mc'Donald, and we would not like quotes (wether single or double) in input to a database or an asp script. Though I beleive more dangerous in...

I assume I'm not alone in my frustration that the expression builder that comes (in part) with Access XP that dosnt wrap text when you open it on an exisitng expression in a query or form. I's bad enough that Microsoft dropped the expression builder from the VB window (which I have restored using Michael Kaplan addin), but I cant understand how they could not have fixed this obviously and annoying BUG!@

Okay, I have a few questions regarding an Access database our company has. I should first mention that I'm not that knowledgable in Access and don't really know how to use it, but I am learning. We use Access as a Rolodex with names and addresses of clients and vendors, so it's made up of forms. First question: when I first open Access and the Main Switchboard pops up and I click Enter/View Contacts it brings me to the first entry in the...

In other words, the 10th business day. How is this done? Thanks for any help...

Hi all, I must admit, all I do in Access is puddle around. But I have been searching for how I can correctly show age in a database I am making, and have discovered, as Allen Browne says, "These examples do not work reliably: Format(Date() - DOB, "yyyy") DateDiff("y", DOB, Date) Int(DateDiff("d", DOB, Date)/365.25)"

After much frustration I was able to update my data store via code only. Using the data adapter was the only way I was able to set up all the objects written in my code. Basically, I cheated by creating an adapter and then copy, paste, modify it's code to suite my needs. This was the end result: Private sub updateTable( ) Dim myData As DataSet 'Command is a form level oledbcommand object Dim Adapter1 As New OleDbDataAdapter(Command)

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
