Howdy,
I have an access database that I use to keep track of projects that my
group is working on. There are a number of files associated with any
one project, so I have [ProjectDescript ions] as a parent to
[ProjectFiles], which holds file paths for all of the most important
files (for easy access and tracking) and a short description of what
each file is. Now, sometimes a file (or a whole directory) will be
moved from outside the confines of the database, or the project folder
will be moved to a backup as the projects are completed, or something
else that makes the path in [projectfiles] not match up with the path
of the file any more.
So, is there a way to either:
Link the file to the database, so that if it moves it will update the
path accordingly;
or
execute a "find file" function that will search through folders and
subfolders looking for the file name (for instance, the saved path is
"C:\deals\JSInc omeStatement.xl s" and then it is moved to "C:\deals\J S
\JSIncomeStatem ent.xls", is there a way to search through C:\deals\
and find all of the files with the name JSIncomeStateme nt.xls, and
list them, and allow me to choose the one that I want?
Or any other possible workarounds?
Thanks,

I like a good "find file" function, it's not to slow as long as the search
area can be kept small. This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

A year or two back I needed a search script to scan thru HTML files
on a client site. Usual sorta thing. A quick search turned up a
neat script that provided great search results. It was fast,
returned the hyperlinked page title, filename, and the body txt (30
preceding and following words) in context with the search word
highlighted. Excellent.!
See it working at: http://www.ipt.co.za
Just search for "firearm"

Ok. I could replace the ccc.html by another page which forwards the user to

Trying to use the 'search' in the docs section of PostgreSQL.org
is extremely SLOW. Considering this is a website for a database
and databases are supposed to be good for indexing content, I'd
expect a much faster performance.
I submitted my search over two minutes ago. I just finished this
email to the list. The results have still not come back. I only
searched for:
SECURITY INVOKER

Here's a short tutorial on how to the OLE-DB extension to access
Windows Indexing Service. Impress your office-mates with a powerful
full-text search feature on your intranet. It's easier than you think.
First, download and install the extension
(http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=171247&package_id=198554).
Simply unzip the file and copy the correct version of php_oledb.dll
into the PHP extensions folder. Then add the...

Here's the rest of the tutorial I started earlier:
Aside from text within a document, Indexing Service let you search on
meta information stored in the files. For example, MusicArtist and
MusicAlbum let you find MP3 and other music files based on the singer
and album name; DocAuthor let you find Office documents created by a
certain user; DocAppName let you find files of a particular program,
and so on.
Indexing Service uses plug-ins...

Hi All,
Is there any way I can specify additional dll search path, preferably in
web.config, which would be used by asp.net 2.0 when binding assemblies?
I have many dlls shared among applications and I prefer not to add them to
the GAC, but also I do not want to keep/manage multiple copies in every web
application's folder.
Thank you for any hints.

Introduction
In this article I will provide you an approach to manipulate an image file. This article gives you an insight into some tricks in java so that you can conceal sensitive information inside an image, hide your complete image as text ,search for a particular image inside a directory, minimize the size of the image. However this is not a new concept, there is a concept called Steganography which enables to conceal your secret...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
