When will Microsoft allow us to deploy applications developed in VB.NET
2005? I've been testing 2005 for some months now and would like to convert
my 2003 pocket PC app to 2005 and then port my VB6 app to 2005. Witn the
2003 Beta I was allowed to deploy about 6 months before release.
Also, is there some reference some place on how to deploy the .NET
framework?

I am trying to deploy an Access Database to unknown end users.
Currently I have a VB program that asks if they have Access 2002 or
later installed and then will load with or without run time depending on
their answer. I have found this simple question quite complex for some
of my users and am wonder if anyone knows of code that can do this
search automatically. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

What has to be set in order to using a Windows 2003 server to deploy CliclOnce?
I am sure there has to be something set to allow setup.exe to be run.
I have succesfully deploy with a W2K server but it doesn't work on 2003. So
I fugure there is some default lockdown that has to be changed.
I don't know 2003 at all.
Thanks for the help.

Hi,
I create my Webservice in 2003 VS and test in Windows 2000 and Windows XP
Pro without any problem. When I deploy it over Windows 2003 server, It fails
to connect to the WS. I got Anonymous access check, and integerated Windows
authentication check.
My client, WinCE 4.2 device, still cannot access the web service. I got a
WebException return to WinCE.
The same setting is always work in Windows 2000/XP Pro.

Hi, Dear gurus,
In the web deployment project, there is one option called "Output
Assemblies page".
The first choice is "Merge all outputs to a single assembly", According
to MSDN,
"Merges all the output assemblies from the compiler into a single
assembly. This setting is equivalent to the -o assemblyname option of

Here is my problem. I have an app that has over 9 web services. For years I
had not issues with clickonce but now it looks like the build is missing
XmlSerializers.dll.deploy. I did have this issue once in vs 2005 and one the
problem just went away. Well now its back. If I build the app 20 times it
may work once. I did find that if I remove this as a required dll that I can
get my program to run. I can't seem to find any info about...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
