Need Some sql or normal access query help

29 New Member
Hi
This question may be a bit obvious, but in a query, how do you show just the month of the current date. I am trying to retrieve records of a certain month.

Date() will show you the full date, but how but jus the month. I tried checking in the properties but they dont have an option just to show the current month.

Is this possible, just to view the currrent month of the current date.
If anyone would be able to let me know how to check records in the previous month , that would be really helpful.

There are a couple of Methods for extracting a Month from a Date Field and if you are using them in SQL, which one you select also depends on how the underlying data is stored:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. 'tested on 4/22/2007
  2. Month(Now()) ==> 4
  3. Format(Now(),"mm") ==> 04
  4. Format(Now(),"mmm") ==> Apr
  5. Format(Now(),"mmmm") ==> April

I am hoping someone can help me. I am making a Access 97 app for a person and have run up against a problem to do with MS Graph. There is a table that has a number of data elements and a date field and entries are entered each month. A graph is required that has three of the data elements represented basically on the y axis and time as months along the x axis. So for each month there is a group of three columns representing the data...

Greetings, I am semi-new to Access and have a query question. I presume the solution is easy, but need some help. I have created a database with a Contact table. The contact table contains address fields among other things. Because some contacts share the same address, I included a boolean field, PrimaryContact. If true, a given contact's record contains the address info for that contact. If PrimaryContact is false, then another...

Hi All, I'd like to include a datasheet on my user interface but since I'm starting to run tight on space, I'd like to have a vertically-oriented datasheet (column 1 has labels, column 2 has values), i.e. a transposed datasheet or datasheet in column format. A vertical datasheet will look cleaner, eliminate the need to scroll across (for miles) and lay out bit more efficiently since I have some long labels. It seems like Access only...

I administer a mechanical engineering database. I need to build a query which uses the results from a subquery as its input or criterion. I am attempting to find all of the component parts of which a part may be composed. I have a table of parts and their subparts. The problem is that each of those subparts may be composed of smaller component parts. The subpart would then be listed in the Part field linked to each of its subparts in...

Hello, This may be very elementary, but, need help because I am new to access programming. (1) Say, I have a column EMPLOYEE_NAME. How do I fetch (maybe, cursor ?) the values one by one and populate a combo box with these names. (this way, I can display all the EMPLOYEE_NAME values) (2) In general, can I do additional processing on column values from

I've been stumped on this for quite a while. I don't know if it's so simple that I just can't see it, or it's really possible. (Obviously, I HOPE it IS possible.) I'm trying to get my queries to run from VB. My pass-thru query retrieves data from our AS/400 that I use to build a local table (on my PC). My pass-thru and local do in fact work together when I run them interactively. But I want, no make that NEED, to run them from VB. ...

I own a small business. Need to track a few hundred pieces of rental equipment that can be in any of a few dozen locations. I'm an old-time C language programmer (UNIX environment). If the only tool you know how to use is a hammer, every problem tends to look like a nail. That said, I could solve my problem in C, but it's not the right tool. I need to come into the Windows world, and I need to get this done in Access or something...

I have been trying for quite a while to set the ImageURL of an image control to the correct information. I have googled till my mind hurts but can find nothing to help. I have even tried to copy the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
