Creating a button/macro to activate synchronisation

15 New Member
Hello,

I am trying to create a button which users can click to activate the synchronisation process within a replica set without having to use the MS Access menus or the Database window (as both of these will be disabled).

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

cheers,
Siwei

Try this

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. public sub SyncDB
  2.
  3.     Dim dbMaster As DAO.Database
  4.
  5.     'Open the Master database
  6.     Set dbMaster = OpenDatabase("c:\mymasterdb.mdb")
  7.
  8.     'Sync changes between master and replicate - this is both ways
  9.     dbMaster.Synchronize CurrentProject.Path & "\" & CurrentProject.Name, dbRepImpExpChanges
  10.
  11.     dbMaster.Close
  12. end sub
  13.
change the code to point to your path

Always try new code on test db's first!

Hi, I'm new to JavaScript so forgive me if the answer to this question is (a) ridiculously obvious, or (b) beyond the realms of JavaScript.... Is it possible to create URLs from function call operators? For example, I'm trying to program an onClick function which will load a webpage in one frame and an image in another, based on the name of the button which is being clicked. So clicking the button with name="help" will open...

Hello- I am fairly new to MS Access and would like to use some macros in .xls in an Access Module. I have tried to do this on my own but failed to make it work. I have included the xls macros and the module as well as where I would like the macros to run. Any input on how to make this work would be appreciated. This would automate a former 3 step process into one process.

Here's a little test app to demonstrate a problem I'm having. It creates four buttons, each one with the different FlatStyle types available. Three of them behave exactly the same way(and the way I'd anticipate), but the FlatStyle.System one does not. If you click on any of the buttons, use the enter key, or the spacebar, they will bring up a messagebox that says "Activate". Except the FlatStyle.System one, which will bring up _two_...

I'd like to create a Macro that will sort some raw data, apprx 20k lines, remove some lines based upon a condition in a certain column. Then copy this data into a new spreadsheet and sort the data again and delete the unwanted data and repeat few more times in new sheets. End product will be apprximately 7 or 8 sheets - 1 for Active Customers, Inactive Customers, Pending Installs, Etc... I'm getting hung up I believe with naming...

This is probably answered elsewhere, but I've searched the Web and VBA for Excel manual, find no answers. I have a VBA-coded macro in an Excel workbook that is to open another existing workbook -- a .xls file, not .csv -- copy data from it, paste that into the original workbook where the macro resides, then close the source workbook. If I use the debugger to step through the macro -- putting a breakpoint at its first executable line, run...

I recently received help writing a search macro for excel, but now I am trying to change it up to use it in another spreadsheet, and I am having some troubles. I need it to search two cells one has a month (cell B4) and the other has a year(cell B5). The macro that I have works great for searching just the month, but I don't know how to change it to incorporate another cell with the year in it. I really appreciate the help this forum...

I have to automatically create some Excel Spreadsheets based on automatically generated .CSV files that are produced overnight. Each .CSV has several columns that need to be deleted. The same columns (both in location and name) are deleted each time. The macro checks for Column Headers/Names and if the value isn't equal to one of 8 specifc values, I want to delete the column. I am attempting to create a Macro that executes automatically when...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
